Draft at brewery. What a treat, a very malty yet light beer. I was drinking all this other stuff that sounds gibberish but this ended up being my fav. Very biscuit dry maltiness, low hop, obtuse yet synod malt flavor.

Sampler draft at brewery. Cloudy dark amber, copper color. A gluten free Barley wine, my first. No astringent flavor and no alcohol burn. A little sweet syrup, some orange syrup flavor. A lighter body.

I will entails catch up to Berko at this rate. Sampler at brewery. A fruity hop DIPA with low bitterness. My kinda DIPA. I could user more fruitiness, just a little grass and asprin sneaking in. Mango and orange need to be more pronounced.

Draft at Brewery. Cloudy amber color. Glowing but can’t see through it. Decent head retention. A surprisingly light barleywine, easy drinking but just a little bit of astringency the end. A toasty and a little sweet biscuit flavor. Low alcohol, low bitterness. Don’t get much of the funky yeast. Actually want this a lityle street and a little thicker.

Sampler draft at brewery. Clear gold color. Low esters but a definite Belgian yeast. Flavor has sweet belfort dough, low hop. A bit of an apply or enemy tart finish. Not sure if I like it.

Sampler flights at the brewery on draft. Dim golden color. An American take on a Belgian but not overly estry or overly sweet but definitely a little banana. A nice grainy bread flavor at the end to balance. Very drinkable, very doable for the style in the states. Hoping this gets even better with time and rebrews. Finishes just a bit bitter, low hop.

Sampler draft at the brewery. Orange blonde color, light lacing. More of a kettle sour or a Berliner. Has some moderate lactic tartness. A little graininess from malt husks. Citrus tart finish.

So, Independent are doing a number of different barleywines, each brewed with a unique yeast. Not sure if they are unique entires, they must just have to be aliased. This is for the Brett Brux variant. Cloudy amber color, small off white head. Aroma of dusty caramel. Taste is sweet peppery caramel. A bit more Brett character in this one.
