Had this at the 2/20/16 Pittsburgh RB Gathering @ Insurrection in Heidelberg. Big thanks to my fellow ratebeerians! Had this from one of Insurrection’s taps. Clear and red. Very sweet in aroma. Fresh and easy but probably not what you’d expect if you are familiar with thicker meads. Even so, this was a good pleasant drink. Easy going fun brew. Surprisingly good co2 in this. Rather refreshing on the finish.

Sampled on draft this mead poured a pinkish golden color with a small creamy white head that left no lacing. The aroma was sweet with a strong passion fruit presence. The flavor was sweet with notes of tannin, sugar and passion fruit. Turns dryish towards the long passion fruit finish. Moderately full bodied. Sold.

Sampled on draft at 99 Bottles this beer poured a red-brown color with a small soapy pink head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was tart, vague berries, strong tannin and medicine. The flavor was sweet blueberry followed by vague spices, a bit of medicine, tannin and some honey. Long finish. Moderately full bodied but a bit flat. Ok.

Ok, so I had this after a few rude beers so its bound to skew my rating, heheh. $1 per ounce at bocktown. First, the pour seem to have lots of fine co2 then it went quiet after a few minutes. Clear like slightly pale water. Mild friendly aroma, yummy to the nose. First taste is quite yummy up front. Sweet and easy, not sure how these can be rated with beer, aHAH. Has some bitterness in there that I can’t identify, must be the bourbon thang. Over all not too bad, except perhaps for that tad of bitter bite. Whisky? not sure. Decent co2 fo a mead and it really keeps you in the loop. Not sure if I detected any bourbon but maybe that’s where the bitter whisky bite came in the fold. Yeah, pretty good after a few rude fricken impy beers.
