Cloudy, thick head, the aroma is a bit muddled, not super bright. Bitter but husky, with yeastiness muddling things up . Another beer too muddy.

I think Im guilty of giving this lager a slightly higher rating than a similar macro lager deserves. Am I biased? Crisp and papery. Golden pour. Sampled but not bought at Gilly’s.

Clear copper and bronzed coloured body with a thinnish, relatively fast-dying tan head. Aroma of bright citrus and lightly piney hops, some grain and distinctly rye notes and a pleasant crisp metallic note.Light to Medium-bodied; Strong rich rye flavours coupled with a lot of bright hops, some moderate complexity with both the hops and the malt and even a little caramel sweetness. Aftertaste is crisp and enjoyable with a very minimal sweetness, but the hops really shine through along with the rye grain. Overall, a nice beer with a subdued complexity, but the rye really does stand out here. Definitely worth sampling if you can get this beer, especially on tap! I sampled this thirty-two ounce growler fill on draught at Whole Foods in Arlington (Clarendon), Virginia on 05-March-2016 for US$8,00 sampled at home later in the day and the following on 06-March-2016.

16oz tap. I don’t approve of non-doppelbock beers with the suffix ator. Really solid IPA nonetheless. Classic, well balanced, mildly doughy. Quite nice, updated East Coast IPA.

Variety pack: pours golden with a white head. Aroma is pine and citrus. Taste is slightly bitter with very little sweetness. Not too much complexity going on. Meh IPA.
