Description
Jaanihanso is a family owned cider house and orchard on a historic farm dating back to the 18th century. Our family bought Jaanihanso in 2000. Our knowledge of the farm’s history originates from the papers that we found from the house, and from older villagers stopping at our gate to reminisce about the “old days”.
The renovation story of the estate has been in sync with our own growing pains. Some years with larger construction works, some years not that much, but there has been constant mutual bettering. In 2013, when the last bits of the house had been refurbished, the car had to move out from its brand-new pigsty-turned-garage to make room for cider. Famously, a garage is the best place to start a venture.

Many many thanks to my Estonian Secret Santa 2016 for this bottle! Slightly cloudy in the glass, fresh floral nose. The dry-hopped cider starts fresh and floral. The hop-bitterness with the aroma-oils are there, fresh and sourish-crisp apples as well. Long intense fruity fresh and round balanced aftertaste. Fascinating hop-apple combination. The piney floral hops remain on the tongue with a nice sourish and fruity fresh cider apple aroma. Great!

75cl bottle from my Euro Secret Santa Dec 15. Pours clear gold, aroma is light apple skins, Crémant and fresh green apple flesh. Quite spritzy and largely lacking in fruitiness, with some bitter apple core coming through. Quite unusual for a cider in this region to not be sweet, especially having been produced in a French style, but this was pleasant enough if lacking in a proper fruity character.
