Since Arrogant Bastard Ale was first unleashed upon the unsuspecting public in 1997, the brand has been braving bold territory and upsetting dandies, milquetoasts and fizzy yellow beer drinkers in great numbers. Massively successful, and ever full of vip and vinegar, Arrogant Bastard Ale split off from the restrictive confines of Stone Brewing in 2015. And now, the brethren of Liquid Arrogance is free to explore, cavort and roam how they damn well see fit. Bottle from (I think) old Bottle Shop, Bermondsey stock. Orange/brown pour with an off white head. Nose is orchard fruit,toffee apple, fruitcake,toffee, sweet tobacco. Taste is coconut toffee, dried fruit, more orchard fruit, whisky undertones. Sweet, malty action. Boozy warming alcohol. Slow sipping excellence.

A one finger pour from an end-of-the-keg offering at Aces & Ales on Tenaya in LV. 2009 vintage we were told, oh my. Thanks, we will be back. A clear amber in color, much the appearance of whiskey as a beer. Boozy smell. A cocktail taste, grain, light syrup, boozy taste too. Swell.

Can 500ml @ Gunnfryd
Pours hazy pale yellow with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, green apples and grass. Taste is light sweet and light to medium bitter with a long green apple, grass and vegetable finish. Body is light to medium, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.

Can at Level One. This beer is a slightly cloudy golden color with a medium white head that burns away steadily to a film. Short strings of lace. Aroma of citrus, malt and hops. Light-bodied with flavors of lemon, mild hops and malt. The finish is lemony with a mild hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

Can. Color: Murky reddish brown, yellowish white head. Aroma: Floral hop, malt, caramel. Taste: Floral and slightly citrus hopbitterness with caramel and malty background. Very slightly boozy. Over moderate bitterness, moderate sweet. Bitter and dry-ish hoppy finish. Ok.

Frisch fruchtige und vergoren fruchtige Noten. Den sehr hohen Alkoholgehalt merkt man kaum. Sehr herb bitter, bleibt noch lange im Mund. Ist mir etwas zu viel des guten.

Malty sweet and floral hop aroma. Aroma reminds me of Dogfish Head IPAs. Taste is, caramel malt at the start with a huge kick of grapefruit bitterness. Bitter aftertaste that lingers. I would classify this as an amber IPA. Good for the style but it’s not my style
