About
Since Arrogant Bastard Ale was first unleashed upon the unsuspecting public in 1997, the brand has been braving bold territory and upsetting dandies, milquetoasts and fizzy yellow beer drinkers in great numbers. Massively successful, and ever full of vip and vinegar, Arrogant Bastard Ale split off from the restrictive confines of Stone Brewing in 2015. And now, the brethren of Liquid Arrogance is free to explore, cavort and roam how they damn well see fit. For those Worthy few that wish to gaze upon the musings of Arrogant Bastard Ale, Double Bastard Ale, Bourbon Barrel-Aged Arrogant Bastard or other Bastard beers, follow along via Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Arrogantbastard.com.

Pours with good white foam and soft light gold body. The aroma is all rancid cabbage, vague sweet hops in the background. Flavour is a muddled pilsner effect, some breadiness, some plasticky hops. Reasonably full finish but some lingering grain aftertaste. Kind of a mixed bag for a pilsner.

Notes found in an old notebook unearthed during a bit of spring cleaning. Drank sometime during 2010. Dark brown pour with a beige head. Stewed apple, coriander, cinnamon, blackberries in the aroma. Taste is bitter chocolate, sultanas, wood, raspberries. Good alcohol burn. Fierce hoppy finish.

Dose (als Stone Enter Night, gebraut in Berlin): Pale Golden, hazy, small but rocky and stable white head, distinctive dryish bitter-sweet piney aroma with traces of pineapple and grapefruit, sweet pale malt in the background well detectable; robust bitter-sweet flavour, soft and nearly medium bodied; lingering fruity, bitter and pale-malty finish. Well balanced IPL, nothing else matters...
