Description
It all started with brothers Carl and Mark Nolen and Brewmaster Kirby Nelson. Three Wisconsin born-and-raised regular guys who share a passion for the Badger State - its friendly people, bountiful resources, rich brewing heritage - and the idea that drawing on all of the above is the key to creating some really awesome beer.

We started brewing in August of 2013, setting off a perpetual motion machine of new brew creations that show no sign of stopping. Our top brands include Badger Club Amber, Red Arrow American Pale Ale, Chocolate Lab Porter, Yankee Buzzard IPA, Beer Frame Pilsner, Betray Ale, S'Wheat Caroline, Patron Saint Oktoberfest, Porter Joe, Wiskator and Depth Charge Scotch Ale.

Come and enjoy a pint (or two) afterwards in our Tap Room or Backyard Bar. We have free, outdoor concerts every Friday night from May through September, and other fun events throughout the year. Our Brewery is kid and dog-friendly. We do not offer food service, but outside food is welcome.

Sample at the taproom. Dark brown color with a medium foamy tan head that recedes steadily to a film. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. Light-bodied with a roasty character and flavors of chocolate malt and coffee. The finish is burnt malt and dark chocolate. Decent overall.

Sample at the taproom. Clear pale orange-amber color with a medium white head that burns away steadily to a film. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, fruit and malt. Medium body with flavors of herbal hops, citrus and biscuit malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a citrusy hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sample at the taproom. The beer pours a clear amber-gold color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, caramel and slight hops. Light body with flavors of earthy malt, caramel and mild grassy hops. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear, dark gold with a half finger of white head. Aroma of caramel, citrus hops and light grains. Taste is light bitter, follows aroma. Light bodied with a relatively thin texture. Lively carbonation and a decently long finish. Not bad, but nothing too crazy either.

Draft at Olympic. From notes. Loads of coffee with milk and dark chocolate. Wow, awesome beer. Can’t wait until I start seeing better distro around these parts.

Bottle. Pours crystal clear orange amber, medium creamy beige head, dissipates fairly slowly with good lacing left behind. Aroma is light pine, citrus, caramel, more pine. Flavor is light sweet and light bitter, sprucy, citrus, bread and pine. Medium body, medium soft carbonation. Also not bad, but lacking the juicy pop of the better IPAs.

Bottle. Pours crystal clear amber, medium creamy off white head, good lacing on the glass. Aroma is pretty standard IPA, pine, caramel, but of dank citrus. Flavor is light sweet and light bitter, a bit of caramel and bread, pine, some citrus, a bit of dank. Somewhat of a lingering lagery-grassy finish. Medium body, high carbonation. Not bad.

12oz bottle. Clearly going for the Capital Amber market, mistakenly thinking that either are decent representations of the style. Off aromas, buttery tastes. Just all around unimpressive, cheap, and unenjoyable. Very poor for a Lager.

12oz bottle. Filtered orange-tan body. Thin, off-white head. Middle of the road, but well done IPA. The hops are there, but not really that bold, or new school...classical American IPA. Some grapefruit, citrus tones. Easy drinking despite the big ABV.

12oz bottle. Unfiltered deep burgundy-brown-black. Respectable steady beige head. Big chocolate and caramel aroma, roast coffee. A nice Brown Ale, with Stout/Porter tendencies. Tastes a little bigger than the 5.2% ABV woudl suggest. Rich, deep specialty malt tones. Some amber malt hidden underneath. Solid offering, nice to see that WBC will come correct.
