We also offer wines, hard ciders, a locally focused snack menu, and a generally laid back Wisconsin tavern vibe. In fact, the only thing we don’t offer are the answers to life’s greatest questions... although some say they can be found at the bottom of a glass.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has grass and light pine with some cinnamon, cardamom and a touch of grain backing. Flavor has mouth more of a cardamom and cinnamon presence with sweet grains and a hint of grass supporting.

Opaque brown black color, small short-lived tan head and a little lace. Aroma is roast and resiny hops. Flavor is a lot Like Nose, mostly dry with a hint of sweetness upfront but largely very bitter and with a long bitter finish.

This is pretty much just straightforward beer uninspiring and okay. Appearance’s a clear yellow, small short-lived head, no lace. Aroma and flavor are about the same: beer. Okay body and finish.

Draft: Amber-gold with an off-white head. Toasty grain, caramel scent. Light caramel malt with a mild leafy bitter..... Fairly boring.

Bottle: Nearly clear gold with a VERY tall, persistent white head.....poured in a Kolsch glass...just funnels the foam right up. Sweet lemon, grain scent. Creamy, grain malt, sweet lemon flavour. A little lactic, but OK.... I prefer these to be a little sharper and not as sweet.

Keg at Whole Foods Wauwatosa. Clear pale golden, large creamy offwhite head, good retention. Aroma of yeast, citrus rind, apple, bready malt. Taste is bready malt, pine, yeast, lemon. Medium bodied, bright, lingering spice.

Tap at One Barrel. 13oz pint. Steady off-white head on top of a brightish red-orange-amber body. Kind of awkward earthy amber toffee touched aroma. Really amber malt forward and sweet, complete amateur production. Pretty much a poorly made strong amber, quite unimpressive. Odd, approaching sour tones. The aroma keeps getting worse. Poor offering, needs work.

Tap at One Barrel. Maybe 8oz into a goblet. Massive beige head on top of a black-brown body. Big roast coffee, chocolate aroma. Sweet, malt centered, kind of has that homebrewed unattenuated sugar thing going on. Pretty mild for 8.3%, I would’ve guessed about 6%. The coffee and the specialty malts cover up any brewing flaws. A pinch watery, not much depth, but drinkable.
