Sample at the Creve Coeur, MO brewpub. The beer is a clear brownish-amber color with a medium thin light beige head that diminishes steadily. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Sweet toffee and malt aroma. Medium body with a sweet malty character and flavors of cocoa and nuts. The finish is sweet chocolate malt with a nutty finish. Average overall.

Sample at the Creve Coeur, MO brewpub. The beer pours a clear yellow color with a thin white head that dissipates quickly. Large sticky patches of lacing. Touches of citrus and wheat in the nose. Light body with flavors of wheat, citrus and sweet malt. Mild hops in the background as well. The finish is clean and wheaty with a short fruity aftertaste. Just average overall.

Sample at the Creve Coeur, MO brewpub. The beer pours a clear pale yellow color with a wispy white head that disappears quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of grainy malt and mild hops. Light and fizzy body with flavors of pale malt, corn and lightly spiced hops. The finish is short and tastes of grain. Standard intro beer overall, not worth ever trying again.

Sample at the Day Before Labor Day party, from a growler. The beer is a purplish-amber color with a minimal off-white head that disappears quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of mild blueberries and malt. Light body with flavors of artificial blueberries, caramel malt and mild hops. The finish is short and fruity. Overall a lackluster effort from this brewer.

Sample at the Day Before Labor Day party, from a growler. This beer is a cloudy dark orange color with a thin off-white head that diminishes quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Mild hops aroma with notes of pine. Medium body with a moderately bitter hops flavor with notes of pine and citrus. Very little malt balance. The finish is hoppy with a short bitter aftertaste. Just average overall.

Hmm.., I guess I will go against the grain here. Had the sampler first and got a growler to go. pours with a thick foamy head and has a slightly sticky lacing. The color is a glowing dark red. Aroma is perfectly malty authentic Irish Ale. Has a light wet soil aspect with some musk. there is some light cocoa and faint roast. Flavor is a bit weaker, a little vegetal, but same musky, earthy malts and a faint muted fruit back there. Easy drinking and is a fun beer.

Large draft (in an oversized shaker) at the Olathe, Kansas location. Pour is ruby brown, clear and absolutely freezing cold. Glass is iced too, I am quite surprised this wasn’t slushy. There is a decent 1 one inch off white head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma is malty, earthy, a bit smoky. Taste is sweet sugary malt, with the earthy peat very much in the background. This becomes smokier as it warms, and the sweetness settles a bit, which is nice. Palate is thin, a bit watery. Palate gained a bit of body as it warmed. Clean beer, just a bit light on taste for me.

draft at Fort Wayne location. This beer pours dark brown with a medium sized fizzy head. It smells mainly of toasted caramel malt. The flavor is more of the toasted malt along with some mild hops presence that adds to the roast finish. It is simple and okay though reminded me more of a brown ale than a Scottish ale.

draft at Ft Wayne brewpub - Pours orange-amber with a one finger head. It has a mild aroma of caramel malt. The flavor is the expect malty sweetness with minimal hops presence. It’s medium bodied and goes down smoothly. There’s nothing special here, but it’s really not a bad beer. Good session brew.

Light, nearly clear yellow. No perceivable hops, and no perceivable adjuncts either. Not creamy, but very light palate. Not offensive beyond being a flavorless and characterless beer. It is drinkable at least, the sort of thing you might buy for $10/ 24 cans, if it were sold in cans.
