12 ounce can from Ridgeview Liquor, 6.24.21. Pure black, large brown head good retention. Aroma of raisin, roast, cherry, whisky. Taste is roast, soy, sunflower seed, cherry, cognac. Full bodied. Nice.

12 ounce can from Ridgeview Liquor, 6/19/21. Murky brown, thin head. Aroma of nuts, apple, vanilla, cinnamon. Taste is caramel, vanilla, apple, cinnamon, maple. Thick, full bodied, moderate booze. I hate to admit I like this.

Very dark brown with a large foamy tan head that left good lacing. Brewed coffee, a bit of caramel and nut. Long coffee finish. Medium body.

On tap at GTOM. Pours ruby with small off white head. The aroma is wheat, berry, citrus, ginger. Thin body, raspberry, ginger juice, puckering sour, very good.

12 ounce can from Festival Northland, 5/19/21. Hazy orange, large white head, good retention. Aroma of grapefruit, tropical fruit, and pale malt. Simple. Taste is melon, grapefruit, pine, resin. Lots of hop character but low bitterness. Tad bit watery. Overall decent.

Can thanks to Drake! Nearly black with a small tan head. Chocolate, cherry, candied chocolate, roast nose. Raspberry, chocolate cake and chocolate candy. On the sweet side, a hint of artificial flavor, not bad, caramel, but something just not quite good about it.

2020 12 oz can from my daughter. Nose is bourbon, prunes, and hints of vanilla and char. Black with a small cinnamon tan head. Flavor is dark raisins, vanilla, bourbon, and hints of cocoa.

I’m a sucker for port wine and pw BA beers. This one’s nice but just slightly astringent, perhaps not the perfect stout to age in a port barrel. Still, darkness reigns and it satisfies. Nice sipper.

2020 vintage offered in a 12 ounce can. Aroma is pretty bold Heaven Hill bourbon with roasted malt. Smooth flavors of bourbon up front followed by roasted malts, dark fruits, and char. Mouthfeel is on the thick side with soft warming after the sip. Reminds me a lot of Bourbon County Stout before 2015. Note to the brewery: keep buying Heaven Hill barrels. This works!!
