Deep dark brown coloured body with a nice two to three centimetre tall off-white head that fades quickly but leaves a subtle lace on the sides. Aroma of deep coffee, some subdued chocolate and a light toasted malt note with some earth as well and a little bit of sweetness, too. Medium-bodied; Rich malty and coffee flavours show at first nicely with a lot of graininess and some relatively easy-drinking sweet flavours with vanilla and chocolate, but the nuts follow shortly after and bring out a light bitterness. Aftertaste shows some coffee and chocolate, but the malt and nuts show stronger with a great balance throughout and a rich flavour considering the alcohol and how easy-drinking it is. Overall, a nice and enjoyable brown with a lot of flavours from the coffee, chocolate and nuts that almost puts this at a porter level, but easier-drinking than that which makes it great for an early summer option that's different than lighter beers! Great to sample - well worth trying to find and cart it halfway across the country like I did, or even better, if you are local to this, get it and drink it right away! I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Crossroads Country Market in Wausau, Wisconsin on 07-August-2021 for US$1,67 (part of a mixed six-pack) sampled at my house here in Washington on 23-May-2022.

12 ounce can, probably from their advent calendar, but not sure. 4/13/22. Dark brown, thin fizzy brown head, poor retention. Aroma of raspberry, dark chocolate. Taste is roast, chocolate, raspberry. Tad bit thin for the style, booze pretty well hidden. Simple, straightforward, good.

12 ounce can from Festival Sheboygan, 4/13/22. Near black, opaque, large frothy tan head, good retention. Aroma of cherry, roast. Taste is roast, coffee, tart cherry. A bit thin, moderate bitterness. Decent.

12 ounce can, 3/19/22. #SmallFormatSaturday Hazy orange, medium fizzy beige head, good retention. Aroma of brett, citrus, marzipan. Taste is stone fruit, mango, brett, cherry. High carb, full bodied. Quite nice.

12 ounce can from Ridgeview Liquor, 2/26/22. Hazy orange, large floating chunks of some kinda adjunct. Large fizzy off-white head, good retention. Aroma of strong lemon, pith, hint of vanilla. Taste is sweet lemon, pale malt. Thin, very one note. Meh.

12 ounce can from Woodman's Appleton, 12/4/21. Red, slight haze, thin head. Aroma of sweet berry, pricy ginger. Taste is ginger, spice, lemon, dry berry. Mild tartness. Kinda one note but still pleasant.

12 ounce can from Festival Northland, 11/29/21. Near black, thin brown head, good retention. Aroma of chocolate, coconut, tinny hops. Taste is coconut, vanilla, dark fruits, roast. A bit thin, off balance. Nice start, needs some tweaking. Oh, by the way, 18.8k.

12 ounce can from the 2021 advent calendar, Woodman's, 11/19/21. If you don't think I'm listening to AC/DC right now, you don't know me. Black, large tan head, fair retention. Aroma of roast, piney hops, faint cherry. Taste is cherry, roast, piney hops. Hints of smoke. Decent balance. A bit thin. Solid.

12 ounce can, 2021 advent calendar, Woodman’s Appleton, 11/19/21. Hazy pinkish, medium fizzy pinkish pinkish head, with some pinkish. Aroma of tart pinkish berry, somewhat jammy, some wheat. Taste is tart and fresh raspberry, pinkish wheat, hint of spice. Slick, juicy, decent balance. Pinkish. Nicely pinkish. Seriously, though a pinkishly solid beer.
