About
Blacksmith Brewing Company opened on October 25th, 2008. The building that houses our brewery and taproom was built in 1908. It began as a steam laundry and later became a blacksmith shop. With every brand the blacksmith made he would then burn it into the wall to make sure it was perfect. The brands still are embedded into our walls showing those who passed this way. It took a great vision to see what it could become and a lot of hard work.

Draft at the source. Clear very pale yellow color, big fluffy white head. Aroma of white pepper and hay. Taste is light straw. Easy drinking. Clear very pale yellow color, fluffy white head. Aroma of straw and subtle white pepper. Taste is similar. Thin body.

Draft at the Montana Brwers Fest in Missoula. Clear dark maroon color, tan head. Aroma of light roast fruity coffee taste is coffee, subtle dark fruit, light body. Nice.

Draft: Dark brown pour with a thin brown head. Sweet aroma is toasty and sweet with chocolate and coconut. More coconut flavor than expected, it outshines any real bittersweetness and roasty notes. Faint chocolate. Not being an expert on coconut this comes across sweet and silky rather than roasty. Certainly the focal point and not just an additon to the base. Overall I liked it quite well.
