Sampler at brewery. Notice the description doesn't tell you the base beer. The bartender didn't know either. Or better put there is no style base. Or even better put it's meant to be a barrel beer. The bartender describes it as smell a shot of whiskey. Well, not far off. Whiskey and sweet cereal malts. Which is kind of ok, actually. Flavor has a lot of barrel alcohol and less malt strength. I think this could benefit from a bit more beer and a bit less barrel. Hops not really around. A medium body with low carbonation. Sweet cereal malts come back in aftertaste. I feel like I disinfect my mouth as a burp. All in all they make worse beer.

Sampler at brewery. Clear dark golden color. Aroma is a noble-esque hop. Some light citrus around a light version of traditional noble hopping. Mild bitterness on the aroma. Flavor is a hop vehicle with a light malt backbone. The hop doesn't wow me and not something I feel needs to highlight a beer. Mild to moderate bitterness rounds it off. Tingly mouthfeel. Drying aftertaste. Decently done but dull and a hop I don't care about but not offended by.

Sampler at brewery. Dark amber and clear body. Sticky lacing. Strong metallic lagering. That's my word for it. A common flavor is lagered. Perhaps I get rye spice but it's not strong. A very tingly mouthfeel. Pretty light and very safe. Low bitterness and the malt is well attenuated. Dull but fine.

Sampler at brewery. Just an amber, malty amber. No sourness like what I consider to be a Kentucky common. All the beers have a stripped down, industrial character. This one has a particular string spoiled fruits yeastiness. A little fruity yeast flavor as well. Mild hop bitterness at the end. Clean body with felt moderate carbonation. Clear brown amber color.

Draft at brewery. Thick honey appearance. Honey like aroma as well. Alcohol wafting off even on a flight pour. I get distilled spirit, grapiness, again a light apple juice that seems to be in a lot of their beers. A thicker yet light mouthfeel. Flavor is much less alcoholic or flavor stronger than the aroma. Sweet but not sticky honey malts, low hops, again a little apple. The best so far in my flight of 4.

Draft at brewery. Clear pale body. Aroma is lightly sweet for style, corn, light apple skins, some grassiness. Flavor isn’t better and has a dry bitter hop and grass on the mouthfeel. Apple seems to be the common facror across the beers here.

Draft at brewery. In the flight this is headless. Reddish brown color. Aroma smells off right away. Really sweet butterscotch and sour apple skins. Smells like infection and diacetyl. Sweet apple and light esters behind that. A very American neutral body flavor the aroma characteristics but no butterscotch. It’s bad and not even very Belgiany. 536311
