Description
McCall Brewing Company has been brewing handcrafted ales at our micro-brewery restaurant in McCall, Idaho since 1994. We are the second oldest Brewery in Idaho. MBC is a full-service restaurant that is open everyday for lunch and dinner. There are seven TV’s that make us a must if you desire to watch sports. Our deck–open in the summer–overlooks the city and Payette lake. We are a true micro-brewery, brewing right in the middle of the building. MBC has up to twelve of our own ales on tap at any one time.

Draft at brewpub: Pours a cloudy, dirty orange color with a smaller off-white head that doesn’t hang around too long. Nose is ginger and clove, hints of citrus and wheat. Taste is more ginger oriented, not a lot of emphasis on the lemon. Light citrus character and very little wheat presence. Easy drinking and refreshing, but not real intense with flavor.

On Tap: Dark brown, near black pour with a tich tan head and thick lacing. The description proclaims this to be thick, dark, and of chocolate; and is mostly correct. There is also a blend of coffee and roastedness that leads into a bittersweet chocolate finish. Quite good!

On Tap: Pours a deep brown color with a moderate beige head and decent lacing. Nose is faint, but presents a pleasant coffee and roasted malt aroma. Taste is coffee, roasted malt, and hints of chocolate. There is also a sweet, molasess feel as well. Some bitters in the trailer. Lighter body than expected for a porter, but still good.

On Tap: Pours a true amber with a moderate white head and thicker lacing. The nose is malty with fruits and light hops. Taste is more dark fruit and roasted malt with a light hops presence to balance. Easily the best McCall ale that I have sampled so far.

On Tap: Orange pour with a medium white head and good lacing. Nose is citrus hops and malt. The taste is nice and citrusy with lingering fruitiness and sweetness. A hint of grape? The fruitiness and the hops left a lingering "pucker" sensation...

On Tap at Brewpub: Extended title is "Orange Fest Hefeweizen." Murky orange pour with a moderate white head and light lacing. Nose is citrus and wheat. The taste is certainly more orange oriented than that of a hefe. Trace wheat and malt present.

On Tap at the brewpub Clear, extremely light orange/yellow color with just a trace of a white head and a few flecks of lacing. Very faint aromas of light malts. Flavor was slightly swet, of honey, and light pale malts. Clean quick palate. For what it is intended to be, very tasty.
