Grunt fill from Winco. Something about this has always said "Avoid!". Boy was I was wrong! The coconut here is a minor player adding some mild sweetness to the whole brew, which still allows the roast grain base to shine through. Dark brown pour, small spotty head. Aroma had minor notes of coconut, nice toast grains, burnt toast and coffee. Taste is gentle bitterness, accented by the coconut. Lovely feel all around. Really nice porter.

Christmas gift from my wife. Dark brown, almost black, fluffy beige head fades to ring. Chocolate is first in the aroma, roast grains second. Taste is almost chocolate milk, very creamy consistency, plus sweetness could help pas this off as a milk Stout. Pretty solid RIS.

On tap hazy reddish brown. Party and chemically aromas and flavors. Some woody maltiness and a little plastic band aid note. Disappointing.

Six pack from Albertsons. Beautiful pour, hazy amber body with huge fluffy, rocky head. Hoppy, resinous aroma. Taste follows the hop forward approach, mostly hops, but not overdone. Finishes bitter and a tinge metallic. Better than expected.

Grunt fill from Albertsons. Clear brown pour with tiny skin of head. Straight up malty aroma, mild smoke notes. Taste also follows the malts, semi sweet, kind of nutty, a little earthy. Wouldn’t classify this as an American staying ale, but more English.

Grunt fill from WinCo. Medium amber pour with small silky head. Hoppy, metallic aroma, some toffee malts. Taste is pretty hop forward, at 90 IBU, to be expected. More metallic notes St the finish. This one is all about the hops.

Bottle: Pours a bold amber color and topped with an inch of creamy beige heads. Lots of thick lacing. Nose is sweet, light citrus fruit and orange peel. Sort of musty too. Flavor is minimally bitter before a sweet soothing bready malt finish. A little herbal floral bit in there too. Odd, definitely off the beaten path for an IPA… more like an ESB without the bitters.

Draft @ BP. Pours a light golden yellow color with a thin ring of white head... filled right to the brim of my pint glass. Nose is minimal, lightly grassy and grainy. Taste is crisp, light bitters and faintly sweet. Cereal grains, grass. Easy drinker, something I’d like to see in cans for summer.

22oz bottle picked up at Albertsons in Boise
Pours dark brown with a medium size tan head, good lacing. Aroma of rich chocolate, roast coffee, leather and sweet caramel. Taste of chocolate, roasted coffee, grainy, ashy with a nice mild pepper bitterness in the finish
Very nice, smooth and tasty

Draft @ BP. Light orange color, topped with a thin ring of beige head. Faint nose of citrus and florals, not much else. Taste is on the sweet side; citrus, caramel, and fruity. Hints at an English barleywine… too mild though. Not real impressed with this one.
