Description
Holy Mountain is a brewery and taproom located in the Interbay neighborhood of Seattle, founded by co-owners Colin Lenfesty and Mike Murphy in 2014. The influence of oak has always been the focus of the majority of beers brewed at Holy Mountain. A sizable building near the Seattle waterfront has allowed the team to build a vast stock of oak barrels, puncheons, and foudres used for both primary fermentation as well as long-term aging.
The proximity of the brewery to the Yakima Valley also allows the team of brewers to utilize hops from the best producers in the world, constantly exploring the relationship between hops, oak, and mixed fermentation. Holy Mountain doesn't offer any year-round beers, which creates an ever-changing lineup in the brewery taproom. In addition to oak-influenced beers, Holy Mountain also offers a wide range of rotating, hop-forward ales and lagers.

On tap at Holy Mountain - Phinney Ridge, pours an opaque muddled orange with a small white head. Aroma has pithy, juicy stone fruits, citrusy hops, an a touch of melon. Flavour is super juicy, with lots of juicy stone fruits, tropical fruits, and bitter citrusy hops. Not a hint of chalk or hopburn. Juicy and bitter—how I wish the style generally was. Excellent.

On tap at Holy Mountain - Phinney Ridge, pours a clear golden with a medium white head. Aroma has crisp crackery malt, some herbaceous notes, and straw. Flavour is super bitter—much hoppier than a typical dortmunder, which is great with me—with crisp biscuity malt, straw, and a bitter finish. Super bitter, clean and bright. Really good.

16 oz. can, pours a clear golden with a medium white head. Aroma is super vibrant, with intense tropical melon, huge piney hops, some citrusy tang, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is super vibrant, with intense melon, bitter piney hops, some white wine tang, citru, and a touch of tropical fruit, all backed by a thin biscuity malt base. Quite bitter and yet also quite fruity, citrusy, and vibrant. Wonderfully constructed, bitter, fresh, tropical westie. Top shelf.

Aromas are yeast / Brett, malt, citrus, herbs and dry grain. Flavors are similar to nose. Mildly tart up front with a little fruity sweet in back. A bit thin with good carbonation. Cool label!

Waxed capped 500 from Tavour. Pours dark brn/blk with no head. Aroma has a lot of bourbon, hazelnut and coffee. Full bodied. Flavor is strongly hazelnut with a lot of coffee. Bourbon and heat come along. Vanilla notes. Very darkly malty and not dry. Pretty nice.

Aromas are herbal, malt, race and a bit of spice. Flavors are similar to nose with great balance between bitter, sweet, and carbonation. One of the best race beers I've had. Wonder what it would be like as an all malt pale lager or pilsner.
