Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass zippy, small head. Starts mild, modest yeasty, quite fruity with notes of banana. Finish drier, still intense notes of banana. I liked it!

Yea, bierkrug hit the nail on the head. Flip top bottle didn’t even pop when opened. Color is pale, mouthfeel is watery, flavor is almost non-existant. I got mine at Wasgau. Will try to muddle through, but this may be a drain pour....

Draft at the source. Definitley the best chestnut beer I’ve had on this entire trip. Rivals some Italian chestnut beers. Unfortunately. But, I have to give the Germands extra points on this one for creativity. That’s rare, so you have to nurture it!

Draft. Cloudy yellow color, thick white head, solid lacing. Aroma of intense clove and banana. Taste is citrus bubblegum. The nicest beer of the usual four.

Draught at the brewpub
Dark color, amber-brown; creamy head, quite persistent. As the menu says, "Schinken zum Trinken", the aroma reminds a smoked German ham (without the "sourness" sometimes associated). The body is quite lean; there is some caramel flavor (dry) and a quite nice smoked character. Correct bitterness.
In this beer the smoked character is very nice, but the body is too weak, especially evident in the final.

Malzig-herber, passend intensiver Antrunk.
