Dark amber color, with quite some deposit in the bottle, hence the appeareance is hazy; it pours viscously.
The aroma is very rich, sweet, with an evident fruity side; sweet, caramel, stewed fruits; later, strong honey smell too.
Extremely sweet, syrupy, almost like a Poltorak, with a strong flavor of caramel, gently caramelized fruits, raisins and plums; there is the correct degree of acidity, and some mild tannins, although it’s not very complex.
The honey is present in the late final, which is a bit weaker than expected; the alcohol perception is low.
Rough but very appreciated.

Handbottle. Pours dark brown to orange with no head. Aroma is siced, wooden, nutty, herbal and herbal to slight spiced. Bitter, spicef, nutty and wooden flavoured. Sweet and nutty flavoured. Sweet raisins and overripe plumbs. Dry and nutty finish.

Solid body, again thick and syrupy, nutty, some spearmint(?!), glue, solvents and marzipan - and of course sweet - very sweet - honey. There’s a tang that is not all too tempting, but in general this ain’t bad, and for sure it has a lot of honey. 250311

Ok. I’ve been holding onto this bottle and rating for a year and a half now, not having almost any experience with mead taste wise and not being sure if it’s the real thing. Now I’m pretty sure it is. Bought the 0.5l bottle on a medieval style fair on the Medvednica mountain that’s overlooking Zagreb, shared it with heavy way back then. Quite dark amber body, ok legs. Obviously no head. Nose... honey, a bit spicy but I can’t pinpoint in what way, vinuous. Pleasant enough. Sweet honey taste, warming, some slightly acidic wine like notes (that were a bit more pronounced when I first tried it, some candied fruit, somewhat waxy. A solid, not overly complex but tasty and drinkable mead.
