Description
Founded in 1650 by Heinrich de Lapière, the Autenried Schlossbrauerei (castle brewery) was owned by the nobility until 1912. The family tradition begins in 1912 when Alois Rudolph bought the brewery. In 1964 Alois Rudolph handed over the business to his nephew Leonhard Feuchtmayr. Rudolf Feuchtmayr has been running the Autenried Schlossbrauerei since 1993. With their son Peter Feuchtmayr, the family brewing tradition continues into the youngest generation to this day.

Very thick, yellowish head over fully hazy ochre beer. Cloves jumping out of the glass, other spices accompanying. Cloves, nutmeg, banana or other mealy fruit. Very wheatfilled, nearly chewy, yet quite drinkable, which is remarkable for this type of beer. Nice, chewy and fruity Weizenbock - very good in its style.

Draught Metallic-golden beer, with fine, dense, just off-white head. Slightly hoppy nose, little else. Dry, even ultra-dry straw flavoured Pilsner. Bonedry MF, light, terribly attenuated. Bone dry, and in the end, pleasing. Pity about the nose - or the absence of it.

Draught Dense, medium, yellowish head over hazed yellow-greenish beer. Hayish aroma, bit grassy, healthstore vegetable shoots. Taste even much more grassy, other grains and again (luzerne?) shoots; greenmalt. Gristslickness, light to medium bodied. Tastes... unfinished, very young. I’d expect more from a Zwickel, certainly on tap.

Draught Huge, very dense & fine yellowish head over hazy pale golden-greenish beer. Cloves, bananaester, bit sulphury - if volatile, that. Rather sweetish, fresh-fruity flavour, less cloves in the taste. Quite wheat-slick, well-carbonated nonwithstanding the visual absence. OK, very young, maybe from there the sulphury character.

Draught Huge, brownish tinted head over clear chestnut beer. Bread, autumn leaves, sweet caramel. Sweetish, breadish flavour, falls a bit flat in the finish even if it gets drier by then. Quite dry in general, dry-out effect in the throat; light to medium bodied. Übliches Dunkles.

Draught Fine white head, fast gone over clear, undercarbonated metallic pale beer with a greenish shine. Hops, noble GE, and dry pale malts, pretty well-balanced. Bit metallic, starch, bit grassy, but goes sweeter later. Light body, slight slickness. Not overly impressive, but decent Helles.
