Founded in 1650 by Heinrich de Lapière, the Autenried Schlossbrauerei (castle brewery) was owned by the nobility until 1912. The family tradition begins in 1912 when Alois Rudolph bought the brewery. In 1964 Alois Rudolph handed over the business to his nephew Leonhard Feuchtmayr. Rudolf Feuchtmayr has been running the Autenried Schlossbrauerei since 1993. With their son Peter Feuchtmayr, the family brewing tradition continues into the youngest generation to this day.

The bottle looks great, really like festbier. The beer in the glass is very zippy, nice head. Starts strong and very spicy. Modest sourish in the background, that makes the beer interesting. Also some fruity notes. Finish still spicy, also a bit grasy. Very drinkable and good beer!

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Dark, almost black, nice head. Starts modest malty, a little bit sweet, not too dry. Shows fruity notes of plums and raisins. Could be a little bit drier, but still a very good dunkles!

Bottle: Deep golden, clear, big beaten-egg-white-like foam with a little lace; moderate sweet-grainy nose with a light strawy touch; moderate to solid sweetish flavour with a light bitter tinge, medium bodied, a bit sticky; light and short sweet-bitter finish. Well crafted, but very unimpressive brew....

(bottle) Clear, deep golden colour with a slowly lacing off-white foamy head. Sweet and slightly sour-doughy (cara-)malty nose. Moderately sweet flavour, medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Slightly cara-malty, minimal bready taste with a discreet hops-profile; sweet and slightly bitter finish with a tinge of hops. Easy-going but also a bit profane Märzen/Festbier. 08.XII.09

bottle from biershop-bayern. Clear amber-golden colour with a dense and creamy white head (very persistent). Lovely malty nose with hints of spices. Malty background with caramel, honey, vanilla, figs and a touch of barnyard. Shy hoppy hints on the lingering finish, in which the caramel returns. A delicious Festbier with a lovely rural character.

(bottle) Cloudy, brown colour with a big but collapsing beige frothy head. Sourish fruity (lemon, berries) and wheaty aroma with notes of caramel and chocolate. Mildly sweet and slightly sour flavour, light to medium bodied, with a smooth carbonation for a Weizen. Moderate wheat-character with lighter toasty notes but a good dash of berry-fruits and lemon; moderately sweet and sour-fruity finish. Pleasant. 09.IX.09

(bottle) Hazy, pale golden colour with a non-persistent, slightly off-white foamy head. Sweet and slightly yeasty wheat-malty aroma with distinctive banana-fruity notes, accompanied by shades of cloves. Sweet and slightly tart fruity flavour, light to medium bodied with a lively carbonation. Wheat-malty and banana-fruity taste with notes of citrus and pineapples; moderately sweet and fruity finish with shy phenolic spices. Unspectacular but refreshing Weizen (15.VII.09).
