Founded in 1650 by Heinrich de Lapière, the Autenried Schlossbrauerei (castle brewery) was owned by the nobility until 1912. The family tradition begins in 1912 when Alois Rudolph bought the brewery. In 1964 Alois Rudolph handed over the business to his nephew Leonhard Feuchtmayr. Rudolf Feuchtmayr has been running the Autenried Schlossbrauerei since 1993. With their son Peter Feuchtmayr, the family brewing tradition continues into the youngest generation to this day.

(bottle) Clear, golden colour with a mid-sized foamy white head. Minimal sweet and slightly malty nose with a good dash of herbal, almost a bit ethereally hops. Quite bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a crispy mouthfeel. Soft malty base with a good accentuation of herbal hops (at least for a Helles); finishes dry and hopbitter. Good ! (16.V.09).

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Nice aroma. Starts mild, not very yeasty, more malty. Finish more fruity. Well balanced finish. Nice.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. The beer tastes strong, modest yeasty, very fruity, like plum, a bit alcoholic. Warming and prickly finish. Not bad!

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Starts nicely yeasty, modest fruity, but the finish is much too washy. Not so good.

Light-bitter flavour, medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Toast-malty taste with caramel, dark bread and a subtle and almost vinous fruity touch. Toasty and moderately bitter finish with herbal hoppy accents. Pleasant Dunkel [28.I.09].
