Description
Founded in 1650 by Heinrich de Lapière, the Autenried Schlossbrauerei (castle brewery) was owned by the nobility until 1912. The family tradition begins in 1912 when Alois Rudolph bought the brewery. In 1964 Alois Rudolph handed over the business to his nephew Leonhard Feuchtmayr. Rudolf Feuchtmayr has been running the Autenried Schlossbrauerei since 1993. With their son Peter Feuchtmayr, the family brewing tradition continues into the youngest generation to this day.

Huge thanks to quack-duck for that one! Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass deep black, small head. Fine roasty malty aroma. Starts intense malty, roasty, liquorice notes. Some smokey hints as well, light sweetish background. Finish well balanced. Soft-malty finish. Nice!

Bottle at Ratebeer tasting at Daves, Friday 4th February 2022. Pours hazy light amber with a white head, sweetness initially, you can taste the age, a little fruity edge, it's good.

6 year old magnum bottle. Deep golden, light chill haze, hive lacing off white head. Light paper and aged yeast, but otherwise quite nice malty base, light honey, dry, citric and grassy notes medium full spritzy body. Dusty retro nasal. Pleasant drink despite its age.

Bottle (2L) from my brother in law at Christmas when the RHG was 500y old. It's vintage! Nice light-hazy gold, foamed over at opening, slightly funky sweet/grain nose but smells nice. Raisins, honey, lemon poundcake biscuit. Really tasty and more interesting than I thought!

2l bottle (old, 1516 anniversary edition). Gusher. Unclear golden color with white head. Aroma is canned peach, a bit dusty, fruitcake. Taste is honeycake, candied fruits, a bit sweet but really juicy too. Thick oily mouthfeel with lively carbonation. Pretty nice, I might like this old bottle better than a fresh one.
