Bottled, 0.33l. Slightly hazy orange brown color with thin creamy tan-like head and fizzy visible carbonation. Aroma of fruity hops, mild notes of caramel and honey and yes, Marko, some carrot, too. Won’t say that it’s annoying, but a bit strange. Taste starts with refreshing sour fruitiness and not much sweetness, then followed by mild spicy and rich maltiness. Mouthfeel seems quite dry to me, despite fruitiness, while aftertaste is medium long and decent, but not harsh bitterness. Medium body, slick texture and average natural carbonation. Very tasty, but lacks some character for a top notch beer...

Bottled, 0.33l. Hazy golden orange color with softa visible carbonation and thin off-white head that was gone in few seconds. Aroma of honey, gingerbread cookies and chestnuts. Taste starts sour grainy and fruity, some citrus notes, while followed by strong honey sweetness. Mouthfeel is crispy, only sweetness at finish, no hops at all. Medium to full body, sticky texture and lively carbonation in palate. Hhmm, way too sour, almost like a wild / sour ale. I like honey, but certainly not chestnut honey. Floral honey would be much better...

Taste starts fresh and sour fruity, followed by honeysweet malt and mild caramel. Mouthfeel is crisp, while aftertaste is pleasant moderate hoppy. Medium to full body, thick texture and lively natural carbonation in palate. Improvements needed...

17/04 A 0.33 l bottle, courtesy of ogivlado, thanks for giving away! It poured deep golden, amber body with smaller head. Crappy malty aroma, flowery, honey and vegetables with additional notes of alcohol and plastic as well. Flavor was slightly sweet malty as well, herbal hops were present but not enough to balance hefty 10% ABV body that unfortunately couldn’t offer any complexity, only some quite unpleasant stuff. Not really well executed, lot of off flavors and besides all, not really sure what they tried to make with this attempt. Could be a bad batch.

Bottled 330ml. -Darker golden coloured, small to medium sized white head, weak grassy hoppy nose. Slight hoppy, mild fruity and not so strong alcohol presence with discreet spicy peppery finish. There’s enough time to improve it. So far just promises.

Ogi’s, shared with heavy and me. The one I was, perhaps, looking forward to the most out of their lineup. Poured a misty dark amber-golden body with a medium sized white head. The nose is immediately a letdown. Carrot, light alcohol and dust. Where are the hop aromas? The taste? Plastic, dust, light dogfood, light soap, sweet, carrot. Sweet too. Hop? What hop? Are they kidding? This is no IPA, not even close really. Even less an I2PA despite the ABV. If they called it Črnomelj Pale Ale or Lokve Pale Ale it might’ve made some sense, like this it just creates expectations that it doesn’t deliver upon. In essence, an entirely new recipe would do the trick. I would really like to taste their cider and wines in any case - I hear that they are better, and I hope they improve their beer recipes - I’m sure that they have the will and the means for that :). In any case, Ogi’s bringing another bottle of this to the next tasting, so we’ll see if this one was a fluke and will rerate it if it is.

Bottled 330ml. -Cloudy orange coloured, minimal white head, intensive honey nose. Malty and strong honey taste with no hops at all. Dryish sweet finish. Maybe I’m not objective here because I’m not a honey fan.

Bottled 330ml. -Darker amber coloured, medium sized off-white head that went away slowly, hint of toffee and grain in the nose. Acidic fruity grainy taste with notes of vegetables. Also some mild sugary presence in the finish. A bit unbalanced beer.
