Bottle Pours a clear light amber with a full off white head. Aromas of sweet, light grain, honey and malt. Not much hops. Flavor is mild, light malts and a well balanced hop profile. Feel is quite smooth and rich and goes down easy. Leaves a fairly bitter taste after and the carbonation is moderate. Tasty.

Bottle Pours a bright clear orange/amber with a thick creamy off white head. Lots of clinging lacing. Aroma is an up-front hops but tamed or subdued a bit with a wody malty sweetness. Flavors are a fairly strong but ballanced hops and malt medley. Tasty and refreshing. It works for me

Orange amber with a thick light moka head. Sweet caramel in aroma,with yeasty notes. A tad oxidized. Sweet malt with woody nutty notes, but definitely oxidized. Light hops and buttescotch coming in finish. Medium bodied. Bought in Summer 2004, SF.

Golden-amber colour. Minimal aroma, but a little pineyness. The flavour is woody, the body chewy. For the style, it’s a on the lighter side, which I prefer, but flavour development suffers as well.

Thanks to Bück Dich for this trade. This started with the disappearance of a small head of fizzy white. Hazy amber color with an orange tint. Pleasant light caramel aroma that repeated in the flavor and followed through to the finish. Nothing really great of bad here, an average amber. Needs more hops to be called an Pale Ale.

On draught January 2005 at Redbones. Dark, near black pour, with some large bubbles and fizzy off-white head that disipates rapidly. Looks like a glass of coke. Aroma of dry toffee and caramel, licorice and light English hops. Begins flavorful and hoppy, but not in an extreme, American, bitter way. Notes of licorice root, caramel and light roast. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Good balance here, not too sweet or too bitter and the spiciness is not overdone. Some wateriness on the finish detracts a bit. I’m a big fan of Full sail after only having two of their beers thus far. Tough to categorize these Winter Warmers. Some are ales, some are old ales and some are English Strong Ales. I like ’em all though. I’d like to mull this one.

Thanks to Bück Dich for this one! The head on this was large and sticky, white and lasted all the way. Well balanced aroma of pine and citrus. The aromas replayed again in the flavor, with the malt and hop bitterness going back and forth with the slight bitterness winning out overall. The body could have been a bit more solid to suit my liking, but this is a good everyday IPA.

Thanks to Bück Dich for this one. Dark brown with lots of ruby highlights under a fleeting 1" head. Caramel and spice and nuts in the aroma. Smooth and malty with just a hint of hop bitterness. Nice brew.

2004 version. Sampled at marinaro500’s post-Thanksgiving gathering, provided by BBB63. Cloudy yellow-orange body, thin off-white head. Piney, grapefruit rind aroma, a bit caramely. Very sharp caramely body, some fruits, grapefruit rind, and pine. Maybe a tad floral. Medium-bodied. Decent beer.

A brown-black beer with a brown head. The aroma is primarily of chocolate, but also with hints of coffee. The flavor contains notes of roasted malt, lots of chocolate on a dry background. A nice porter.
