Bottle. Surprisingly clear orange/copper featuring a big bold white head. Aroma of malts, yeast and honey. Taste follows aroma plus bread and undefined fruits. Medium herbal bitterness. Medium carbonation. Ok.

Bottle. Cloudy dark orange featuring a barely nice white head. Aroma of malts, yeast and grains. Taste of yeast, malts, bread (dough) with hints of citrus fruits. Low bitterness and slightly sweet. Low to medium carbonation. Somewhere between unremarkable and ok which is quite the feat for a Mönchshof beer.

500ml flip-top bottle bought at the Offie, Leicester and drunk at home. Mid- to dark brown with an almost purplish hue, opaque and muddy with a tiny layer of beige/khaki head. Malty smell, hint of blackberry, chocolate, sarsaparilla. Sweet taste, more malt, liquorice, molasses and maybe a touch of bubblegum. More liquorice in the finish. The body is fairly thin but there is enough carbonation to give it body. This is pretty damn good.

Dirty, dark copper with a tall, frothy head. Aroma of bananas and metals. Taste mildly yeasty sweet up front, mildly bitter at the end with grainy notes. Medium to light bodied, watery texture. Struggles to reach average for the style.
