Draught at Sandkerwa Festival in Bamberg. Great hops all the way. Nice, sweet malt with a touch of caramel. Nearing perfection. Bottled: 8/3/8/4/16 A deep yellow-brown color. Really brown, but not like a dark beer, a dirty brown. Something like a dark apple cider. Quite cloudy as well. Strong earthy aroma of malt, nuts, grass, and soil. A strange aroma, for sure, though not completely unpleasant. An extremely earthy flavor. Dry, malty, nutty, just a touch of sweetness, as well as a touch of sour. An extremely original and interesting flavor. A very dry, hoppy finish, long lasting. Extremely dry, bitter finish. Pretty low carbonation. What can be said about the balance? If anything, it could use a bit more malty sweetness. But excellent all around. It goes excellently with food, as well.

Bottle from a small supermarket in Bamberg. Bright, brilliant yellow color, thick, but not large head. Strong aroma of malt , hops, and fruit. Very fruity, with spices as well. Very hoppy flavor with lots of fruit and relatively good spiciness. Very nice, although not near as great as it was on tap. A good, bitter hop finish, slightly grassy and longlasting. It is still very interesting, though, a great bottled pilsner. Amazingly dry, crisp beer. I like it a lot, although the draft is better.

Bottle, 4.9%. Mild chalky aroma. Clear golden colour. Good stable white head. The flavour starts off with a distinct bitterness, not rough, but enough to dominate. The aroma hop is a little soapy, but that is fine considering the balance with the bitterness. Clean and malty.

Wow! I don’t know keller beers until now, and i’m particularly impressed by this beer. Nice amber cloudy colour with solid frothy white head. As pouring down makes orotund. Aroma is like stock-yard in a good sense and also dry hops. In the flavour i can feel barley malts (like Belhaven beers, but not as pungent, rather sweety) and beautiful hoppiness. Nevertheless also refreshing and has unnoticable carbonation. I have never met with as versatile beer like this. I think the most convenient mark is: well-balanced. Saved to my favorites!

bottle from biershop-bayern.de. Clear golden colour, mid-sized white head. Surprisingly floral-hoppy nose. Solid malty base with lots of hoppy flavours, very floral and resiny. Surprisingly hoppy for the style, in a very pleasant way. Full of character - a good one!

I will assume this is the same beer. I had it at KellarWald and it was just called St. Georgenbrau Holhen Trunk. Deep amber color. Herbally, earthy nose. Very malty rich mouth. Smooth with faint hints of herbal goodness. Very herbally lingering finish. Excellent.
