50 cL bottle, trade with Maria. Pours clear yellow with a creamy and chalkwhite head. Nice citrusy hops aroma, clean. Flavour is mild citric hops with a subdued sweetness. Delicate and crisp. Smooth citrus fruity finish with a mild level of bitterness. Great!

Bottle from Wine Specialist. Amber color with a decent, coarse white head. Odors of yeast, malt and noble hop. It’s inviting. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Flavor is malt and mostly noble hop. It comes out almost astringently dry. Very tasty. Too complicated to be refreshing. With time it develops a wood character. Nice, refined bitterness in the end.

bottle, thanks to Bochum! Hazy golden colour, large head. Wonderful hopp nose. Full-bodied, very hoppy indeed, dry mouthfeel. Lovely hops, resiny and grass, slightly flowery. Solid malty background. Superb stuff.

(bottle) Clear, deep golden colour with a medium-sized, slowly lacing eggshell-coloured foamy head. Moderately sweet, very aromatic cara-malty nose with citrousy and woody hops. Moderately bitter flavour with a balanced cara-malty sweetness; dry and lingering sweet-bitter with fruity and woody hops. Fantastic Kellerbier with Märzen-strength (17.05.08).

[cask at Back of Beyond, Reading] I’ve never had this style before, so didn’t know what to expect.. Was pleasantly surprised. It was sweet, oaky, woody, malty, uncarbonated, and rather lovely. Despite being made using a lagering process, this is far more like a sweet ale than a lager.

Bottle (purchased at the former Wagner-Brauerei, Pottenstein): deep golden to light amber coloured, mid-sized, slowly collapsing off-white head; moderate pale-malty nose with a very distinctive touch of herbal hops; solid bitter sweet flavour, light to medium bodied, very soft MF; aromatic hops in the soft, spicy bitter-sweet finish. A franconian beer of excellent quality............

Cask, Hoylake Lights. My first ’cellar ’ beer. Dark amber colour with a lingering medium white head. Quite a bit of lacing. Malty, hazelnut aroma, some hops too. Nice mouthfeel, creamyish body with a smooth dry hoppy taste. This has got me interested in seeking out something similar within the genre.

Cask at JDW, The Penny Black, Bicester, Oxon 09-04-08 Pours clear amber with a small white clinging head some nuittiness on the nose. Tastes very soft in the mouth, some light toasted flavours to this, some grain and sweet maltiness, a lovely beer and yet another corker at a JDW.

50 cL bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a dense, lasting and white head. Mild banana fruity note in the aroma. Flavour is medium sweet with a light mix of wheaty fruity and yeasty note mixed with an underlying sweetness. Doesn’t show the standard dry wheaty notes. Mild acidic and fruity finish. Certainly drinkable for me.
