Slightly hazy orange-gold pour with a medium frothy white head that dissipates gradually to a dense film. Sticky strings of lace. Aroma of citrus, wheat and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of mild citrusy hops, wheat and roast malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a lemony hop and wheat aftertaste. Above average overall.

Can. A- Ham brine, mild smoke. A- Gold color, clear liquid, white head. T- Umami, gentle smoke, corn, malted grain, Hormel Cure81 ham, subtle candied orange peel. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- This is just great. Perfect on a balmy winter day but is light enough to be equally great on a scorcher of a day. Since Aecht is so hard to find in Nebraska nowadays, finding a good smoked beer is a treat. Gentle smoke throughout on the nose and palate that doesn't turn it into a meat beer and allows the grains to peek through. Perhaps a touch prickly on the palate. Really wish I'd have bought a 6 pack or two last time I was in Ohio. Takes me back to Bamberg.
