Re-rating (previous 3.4) Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 21A). Bottle 50 cl - Batch IPA050121 - BBF 11/2021. AROMA: medium-low oxidized hop aroma (isovaleric) and some pine. Malty background, medium-low to low, with a faint toffee character. slight cereal husk. APPEARANCE: amber color and clear. medium-large creamy ivory head with good retention. lace formation. TASTE: medium-low oxidized hop flavor (isovaleric), slight pine. medium-low background of malt, toffee-like, but more neutral in the balance. Medium-high bitterness with an almost dry and bitter aftertaste. MOUTHFEEL: medium-low body with a slight creaminess. medium carbonation. OVERALL: a balanced IPA which already started to decline.

AROMA: medium-low grainy-neutral malt character with slight sweetness. low background notes of sulphur and cereal husk with faint metallic. APPEARANCE: pale yellow color and clear. medium off-white head with medium retention. some lace formation. TASTE: initial medium malt flavor with a neutral-sweet character. minerally background notes with some cereal husk. medium-high bitterness in excess for style. dry and bitter finish. PALATE: medium-low body com medium carbonation. slight astringency. OVERALL: a blond ale with some execution flaws and excessive bitterness.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 20A). Bottle 50cl - Batch P071217 (BBF 08/2018). AROMA: medium roasted malt aroma with slight notes of dark chocolate, nutiness. Slightly sweet malt background. APPEARANCE: very dark brown color and opaque. medium head of light brown color with medium retention. ruby highlights. TASTE: medium-high flavor of roasted malt (unsweetned coffee) and almost burnt. Slight dried nuts flavor. Medium bitterness with a roasted, slightly bitter and semi-dry to dry finish. PALATE: medium body with medium-low carbonation. Slight alcohol warmth. OVERALL: altough the label says "an hybrid english/american porter", this sample is clearly tilted towards the american version, rendering a decent example.
