Quite sweet, malty, but quite pleasant. Caramel. Enjoyable light funk to it

Cherry candy, bit sweet. Not much fizz to it. Omiyage

Found a review that must be at least 12 years old. According to my ratings it reminded me of the cherry floride you get at a dentist's office.

330 ml bottle from Yamagata prefecture. Thanks for this Kaido! Pours hazy yellow, definitely unfiltered. Small white foam forms a thin top at first but it dissipates fast. Aroma is quite thick with malt but there is something else as well - really smells like buckwheat a bit. Taste is surprisingly sweet, didn’t really expect that. It has some extra bitter touches from buckwheat use but otherwise is pretty malty. Feels like eating a cough drop where under bitter herbal front layer you have some sweet stuff waiting - but with this beer you start from sweet and finish with herbal bitterness. Aftertaste is long, dry and malty - with a bitter feel, nothing more. Very original and surprisingly quite well made.

330 ml bottle from Yamagata prefecture. Thanks for this Kaido! Pours hazy red, has a thin foamy top that dissipates fast. Aroma is not very strong, some malts, a bit of sweet fruits. Taste is not as sweet as I guessed from the aroma but definitely has abundance of fruits. I understand they used cherries while fermenting this beer, so the slight wine-like taste is coming from there. This is also balanced with beer maltiness, so it ends up being softly balanced. Overall, better than I expected, should have kept this one for hanami.

Bottle. Color of rose wine, light salmon pink, with lace. Light golden malt aroma, like a Bohemian pils with cherry and some hops, rather controlled and dry. Appealing. Sour cherry mixes with a light golden malt beer and a bit of caramel flavor. Not so sweet at all. Well balanced and interesting. Some sweet malt and something slightly funky there as well-slightly reminiscent of a lambic. Not great, but well done.
