Bottle mail order from the brewer’s man. Very light golden yellow. Cloudy as hell, tall fin head. Rich wheat malt aroma. Banana and clove. Creamy, sweet, full, with a bit of a sour touch as well. Very edgeless. Clean, flavorful. Lots of banana and a bit of sour fruit as well. Rich cereals. Nice balance. A bit thin, but clean. Sweet and rich, with just enough sour edge to balance. A clean yet tasty weizen. Nicely done. Man, these Japanese micro brewers know how to do a good weizen.

Bottle, mail ordered from Hokkaido. Man, was that expensive! Roasted malt aroma with coffee, a bit of dark fruit. Dry, mild, smooth. Black with a lacy tan head. It lets some light through. Slightly sweet, roasty, flavor. Rather fruity, but then a woody, smoky and roasted finish takes over. Bitterness lingers a long time. Light bodied (a bit too light) and flavored. That subtle but unmistakable tart fruitiness is strange and interesting. As the label says, it is very mild. Well balanced, crisp, dry finish. I doubt Jackson would include it in his top 500 if it was done today, but it is still a decent dry stout. Yes, licorice too.

500 ml bottle, mail order from some joint near the brewery. Rich golden color with a tall, foamy head. Biscuity malt aroma with grassy hops. Nice balance. A proper pilsner aroma. Just a touch of fruit, a bit of citrus as well. Rich, sweet, biscuity malt flavor with ok hops but not quite enough. Rather grainy and thick. Not much hop aroma but a bit of grass and a decent bitter finish. A touch of fruit in there as well. Decent pils but not really special.

Draught at the Craft Beer Festival in Ichinoseki, Iwate. Nice copper color with a thin, fine head. Amber malt aroma, fruity. Rich amber malt flavor, slightly fruity, dry finish. Decent hop burn later. Easy-drinking, refreshing, good finish. Not so interesting, though.
