Cloudy light brown. Chocolate powder, sweetish, but gets drier in the end.

Golden-brown, toasty with light caramel, chewy, earthy with a fair bit of bitterness. Good American-style brown ale, and the dryness takes it towards austere dunkel.

Light bronze, earthy, quite toasty character, a touch of bright fruits, good balance but not much brightness.

On tap at Aslan, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma is quite dry, with dry bready malt and dry resinous hops. Flavour hits you with a wallop - loads of resinous hops, with just enough caramel malt to back without contributing much sweetness. Very nicely rounded, a little boozy. Excellent.

Wheat Grass syrup 7 4 7 3 15 3.6/5 On tap at Aslan, pours a cloudy greenish yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out pungent grass and syrup. Flavour is exceedingly grassy and syrupy - very strange but quite nice. Unusual experience, but in small quantities, this is really nice. Raspberry syrup 7 4 7 3 15 3.6/5 On tap at Aslan, pours a cloudy pink with a small head. Nose brings out lots of raspberry, nice tartness and wheat. Flavour brings out lots of sweet fresh raspberries, not much else. Again, unusual Berliner, but this seems to work more cohesively than the wheat grass even though I did enjoy that one. Well-designed drink.

6.1
Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 5.5

On tap at Aslan, pours a dark mahogany with a small white head. Aroma reveals roasted malt upfront, maybe some hint of oats. Flavour seems like a cross of a red ale and a stout - notes of roast, dry bready caramel malt and maybe some oats. Weak and light, with a thin body. Not a robust stout by any means, but not a disaster - just pretty weak and uninteresting.

On tap at Aslan, pours a deep dark amber-tinged brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out caramel malts, balanced by toasted malt and moderate hops. Flavour is very well-balanced, with good portions of caramel toasted malt and hops. Really nice stuff here - drinks easily and packs a lot of flavour in harmony.

On tap at Aslan, pours a crystal clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is quite vegetal, with some dank earthiness and floral hops. Flavour brings out lots of crystal malt and vegetables, with some poorly positioned hops. Unpleasant stuff - something is wrong here I think.
