33cl Fles van Katjeskelder park shop. Granig, iets mufs, moerassig, zure sloot, iets zoets van de pruimen, licht hoppig. Matige pale ale.

Dumpf getreidig-hefiger Beginn. Ab dem Mittelteil erkennbar gewürzig, moderate Herbe, etwas trocken. Mild hopfig, mittellanger Abgang, ok. 9/7/8/8/10/8
Lekker nat, wel koud.

Fles 33cl thuis. Citrus, hoptonen, maltig, bittertonen, ipa-tonen, wat koriander, orange peel, fruitig, klein zuurtje. Meer IPA dan witbier. (23-9-2022).

Bottle shared at tasting. Clear pale golden color, small white head. Smell and taste remind me of a yeasty Belgian blonde with floral notes and floral hoppiness. Witbier? Okay then....

330ml bottle. Opalescent, yellow-ish, golden colour with average, fluffy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Wheaty malty and slightly citrusy fruity, hoppy aroma, hints of orange peel, lemon peel, a touch of coriander. Taste is dry, spicy, minimally citrusy fruity hoppy, wheaty malty basis with subtle residual sweetness, peppery notes of coriander, a touch of orange peel. Oily-watery texture, dry palate, fine and soft, mildly prickly carbonation. A tad overspiced, quite standard in other respects, not overly refreshing - improvable.

Belgian style blonde with added plum juice, from a Dutch brewery – with a name referring to female genitalia, which in some parts of the Dutch language territory are also compared with plums, hence the link; immature and potentially offensive as the name of this brand may therefore be, it clearly works to get attention and it is now available in Belgian drinks stores as well. Snow white, thickly moussy, stable, shred-lacing head, initially clear yellow-golden robe, turning misty and deeper ‘old gold’ with sediment. Aroma of indeed some plum jelly and cooked plum rather than fresh plum juice, green banana, cereals, grass, cooked pear, coriander seed, cooked red cabbage sweetened with brown sugar, honey, old cotton cloth, dried out white bread. Crisp onset, green pear, vague banana and indeed (unripe) plum somewhere, with a certain degree of plum peel astringency; medium carb, white-bready and grainy pale maltiness with a touch of soapy coriander seed spiciness and mild grassy and floral hop bitterness in the end. Ends a tad powdery (yeasty) but altogether clean and measured, with traces of this altogether subtle plum peel astringency lingering; any true ripe plum (or even plum juice) flavour remains as good as absent. Not that I feel cheated, though – I can have a plum lambic like Tilquin’s Oude Quetsche any time instead of this rather ordinary, childishly named, attention-seeking blonde.

Small yellowish head over clear golden beer. Hops, fruity esters, parsley, and a bit meaty nose, at the same time aromatic. Bit metallic taste; fruity indeed, if difficult to name the fruit. Ends again bitter-metallic. Retronasal unripe fruit. Quite slick, medium carbonation, bit sticky. Not really great, uttely infantile name.
