11.2 oz bottle purchased at Royal Liquors in Kansas City, Missouri. Pour is hazed white golden with a bubbly 2 inch white - ever so slight greenish head. Nice lacing. Aroma initially of tart lemons, followed by a really soft spicy perfume floral wheat. Way in the back there also some peach sweetness. Very delicate nose. Taste is tart sour lemons and limes immediately, though this gives way pretty quickly to the floral wheat. The tartness picks back up in the finish, this time more as lemon peel. Palate is light, sort of watery, with moderate to high carbonation. These combined to make for a drinkable beer that went down super fast. Of the Berliner Weise I have had, this was certainly the softest on the palate, nice.

11.2 fl oz bottle purchased at Beertopia in Omaha, Nebraska. Pour is clear light golden and a two inch white head. There is hardly any visible carbonation, though what is there consistently bubbles straight to the top of the glass. Aroma of soft floral lemon and lime, slightly sweet and citric and some gentle bread aroma behind that. Really delicate and engaging nose. Taste is initially quite big on the lime then, the lemon citric sweetness. This is not as tart as the nose would have suggested, though does still have a nice bright presence. The soft bready malt is in there too, though is well beneath the citrus fruit and takes on a nice saltiness. The floral element of the nose is present in the taste, and gives it nice depth of flavor, as well as rounds out and smoothes out the lemon and lime. the taste has more of a yeastiness to it. Palate is thin medium, light carbonation with a brief clean finish (slight salt). Really drinkable, and was great with food.

Had a chance to sample this at 2 Amy’s in Washington D.C. Pours a slightly cloudy, straw, yellow, gold with a frothy, active, lacing white head. Very aromatic, smelled like a bouquet of flowers with some strong orange peel, coriander and slight sour aromas. Flavor was where this takes a wrong turn. Super sweet, apples, candied oranges, flowers, honey. Finish is slightly watery and with high carbonation. In a word; weird. I think I was expecting a Geuze and got something else. I have no idea where the sea salt went nor did I pick up any lactic qualities.

11.2 ounce bottle from State Line Liquors. Pours a hazy golden color with floaties. Medium sized head with poor head retention and lacing. Very active carbonation. Aroma is bread, lots of spice and some stone fruit, almond and vegetable notes. Oddly reminds me of artichokes. Taste is fairly thin. Notes of bread, spice, citrus including orange and lime and nuts. Thin-medium bodied.

Bottle rerate: If you gave me this and told me it was champagne, I might never know the difference. Pale golden, big bubble fizzy, nose is vinous, virtually indistinguishable from champagne. Even the initial sip, sweetish and fizzy is champagne. But then comes a distinct tartness unique to Berliner weisse, lactic, seems to pull the tongue and makes me cluck. Lingering bitterness also says beer. I have to admit it was a struggle to make this beer last longer than 3 big glugs from a goblet, absolutely refreshing and easy to drink, and with such low alc, I could do this all day long, all day long. Previous rating was low, 3.2 - it appears this fares better in bottle than draft? Draft @ Redlight. Very pale yellow with a light haziness and smallish head. Very lightly soured, with a hint of locker room, nose. Mild flavor. Light palate, almost feels like a lemon soda. Light and dry crackery malts. Medium degree of tartness.
