Lahnsteiner Schwarzbier, tap, Kafe Belgie. I guess this rating is this beer, as I can’t find any other information about it. Anyway, it pours a dark black color, short off-white head. Soft aroma of some roasted malt, licorice and rye, but quite soft. Roasty taste, like a typical schwarzbier. Not very strong, but decent taste. Quite creamy. Not bad.

Das Pils tritt unscheinbar auf, es ist zu keiner Zeit besonders auffällig, weder positiv noch negativ. Hopfig, gleichzeitig etwas süß. Stark getreidiger Nachgeschmack. Nun, vielleicht ist das Bier hier doch einmal auffällig. Das wars dann aber auch schon. Test vom 9.8.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,6,5,2,5,4 - 4,70

Bottle: Amber coloured, off-white foamy layer; sweet dark-malty, a bit metallic nose; sugary, sweetish-bitter flavour, medium bodied; a tinge of alcohol in the fruity, sweet-bitter finish. A very mediocre brew............

Bottle: Deep golden, very stable mid-sized creamy head, some clumps visible, alcohol in the estery and fruity nose; rather flat sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; quite short bitter-sweet finish. Drinkable, but not the best example of this style.........

Typischer Malzgeruch, die Süße scheint in richtigem Maße vorhanden. Malziger Antrunk, der durch seine geringe Süße in recht reinem Zustand ist. Wirklich angenehm, dass es auch Malztrünke gibt, bei denen men nicht durch süße oder brotige Aromen erdrückt wird. Im Nachgeschmack sackt dieSüße schnell ab, während die brotige Malzigkeit noch erhalten bleibt. Ein Malztrunk erster Güte! 8/12/13/12/5/12

Sehr milder Antrunk. Malzig, ohne richtig süß zu sein, aber auch für die herbe Seite kann sich das Bier nicht richtig entscheiden. Im Mittelteil wird das Bier malziger, bleibt aber wässrig. Bananiger Geruch. Sehr süßer Antrunk, etwas hefig. Weiterhin zu süß, im Mittelteil schwächt dies zum Glück etwas ab, eine herbe Note kommtzum Vorschein. Der Nachgeschmack ist erfrischend, andererseits unendlich langweiligdurch seine lasche herb-fruchtige Note. Nö, brauch ich net. Test vom 21.3.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 5,6,6,5,9,6 - 5,90

(bottle) Cloudy, pale golden colour with a medium-ized foamy white head.Yeasty, light-sweet malty aroma with a touch of citrus and shy herbal hops. Yeasty-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with an unexpected smooth carbonation. Pale malt-character with strong yeasty notes and restrained fruity esters; dry and pretty matured for the style, but unfortunately yeasty-bitter finish in addition with bittering hops which makes it a bit harsh. Lacks balance.

(bottle, as Lahnsteiner Weizenbier, 4.9%) Cloudy, yellow to orange colour with a medium-sized foamy white head. Dusty, slightly sweet wheat-malty aroma with rather strong clovy notes and a restrained fruit character. Moderately sweet flavour, light bodied with a smooth carbonation (for a Weizen). Wheaty, yeasty and strong clovy taste with light notes of banana; slim, malty finish with stong clove phenols (also some plastic impression). Pretty imbalanced Weizen.

Bottle, thanks to DerDoppelbock. Golden, low carbonation low creamy head. Grainy and heather nose. Light fruity malt base, good herbal profile. Medium to light chewy body. Hayish and herbal aftertaste.
