On tap at Zhang Men, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out somewhat metallic notes, with oats, and some earthy notes. Flavour is fairly true to style, with on the metallic side - with oats, earthy oats, and chalk. Just not feeling this.

On tap at Zhang Men, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out fresh kumquat upfront, with a touch of floral notes. Flavour is pretty monolithic on the kumquats, with a juicy, citrusy character. Nice use of the kumquats. Simple but refreshing.

On tap at Zhang Men, pours a hazy dull golden blonde with a small white head. Nose is quite fruity, with floral stone fruits of some sort (lychee?) and a tea-like note. Flavour is quite fruity, tasting more like peach juice now that I know what's in here. Gently sweet, barely sour. Pleasant stuff.

On tap at Zhang Men, pours a hazy dark amber orange with a small beige head. Aroma is quite malty, with toasted caramel, bready malt, subdued resinous hops, and traces of butter. Flavour is overly malted, with sweet caramel, bready malt, candied sugar, and subdued resinous hops. Sweet, not quite cloying. This is really not what I want in a IIPA - over-malted, under-hopped. Not good.

On tap at Zhang Men, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out moderate peat, with medium roast and subdued hops. Flavour packs more of a punch on the smoke, with lots of peaty smoke, followed by a dry medium roasted malt base, and subdued hops. Nice use of the peat, forging a dry finish.

On tap at Zhang Men, pours a murky dark brown with a dark red tinge and a small tan head. Aroma is earthy and malty, with an overall pretty subdued bready malt character. Flavour is more pronounced, with lots of dry bready malt, toasted caramel and a faint bitterness. Fairly true to style, with that nice dry, English bready malt character. Good stuff.

On tap at Zhang Men, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out piney hops, some floral notes, and crisp biscuity malt - smells more west coast than anything. Flavour is quite floral and piney, with some resinous hops, stone fruit pith, and biscuity malt. Fruity and floral. Not really NE-like, but that's probably a good thing, as there isn't much chalky yeast crap that's in many of them. Solid.

On tap at Zhang Men, pours a hazy yellow with a small white head. Nose is full of butter, with little else discernible. Flavour is a bit less offensive, with floral notes, spicy rye, citrus hops, and diacetyl. Somehow it's less egregious than the nose suggests. Still, not good.

On tap at Zhang Men, pours a hazy dull copper orange with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of the osmanthus flowers, with jasmine tea and light earthiness. Flavour is quite floral, with jasmine tea, some subtly tropical stone fruits, and floral notes. Cohesive and fresh. Very pleasant.
