Draught at the brewpub. On the house. Sweet and grassy hop aroma. Hazy dark amber colour. Small stable tan head. The flavour starts off with some bitterness, then reveals a high amount of grassy and citric aroma hops, then some maltiness, dark malts. the aroma hops are a bit overdone in my opinion, and are getting quite sour. 636315

Draught at the brewpub. Distinct clove aroma. Cloudy orange colour. Very small tan head. The flavour is nicely spicy, mostly clove, little citrus. Quite bitter for a Hefeweizen, and also quite sweet. But quite good, could have been made in Germany. High carbonation. 7 3 7 3 16

Draught at the brewpub. Weak roasted aroma, some dark bread. Clear very dark brown colour. Small stable creamy light brown head. Nice roasted flavour, plenty of good dark breadiness. The aftertaste gets a little citric, but nothing to worry about.

(6/29/08) Bottle sample at RBESG08 grand tasting in Plzen. Aroma is a bit weird but has some malt and coffee. Sweetish flavor with some strange fruitiness and some malt. Medium-bodied.

RBESG08 Grand Tasting Opaque dark brown body. Sweetish malty nose. Grapey?! malt that’s apparently nice and I’ve had better but it’s an ok beer nonetheless. Man, these notes are a blast. If only they made more sense.

RBESG08 Grand Tasting Murky yellow body, small white head. And then the rating gets messy.... cloves? in the nose, pungent. Lovely herbal lemony taste. Wow. Guess this really struck a chord with me... and I don’t remember almost anything about it. Aaah, the dark side of grand tastings.
