Description
Moments with a taste of life. Sweet, bitter and fruity. At Malmgård Brewery, we bring a toast for all nuances of life, for friends, for laughter and for good food. The beer we brew is the result of careful craftsmanship. We use carefully selected hops and malt, ancient grains and clean, local water.

Huvila beers were previously brewed by ex-brewpub Panimoravintola Huvila (-2009).

Biggish white head quickly grows coarse. Slightly hazy deep golden body with strong carbonation. Mealy tropical fruit aroma with resiny floral straw notes. Dry-sweet gooseberry and straw taste with papery notes. Mid-bodied. Mealy mouthfeel. Dry gooseberry and peach aftertaste with spicy papery notes. Nice, but too papery. (0.5l bottle, Eat & Joy Kluuvi, Helsinki. Also rated in 2008, when it was not nice at all.)

Medium offwhite head does not last. Amber body. Fruity floral aroma with malty notes. Powerful dry-sweet taste of floral resin with dusty faintly roasty malt notes. Sharp, harsh mouthfeel. Bitter dandelion aftertaste. A bit on the sharp side, and a bit lacking in depth, but still good. (0.25l draft at Oluthuone Kaisla, Helsinki.)

Pitch black, small tanned head. Cocoa, roasted malts in the nose. Full-bodied. Flavor is sweet. This is almost sweet stout - well it is called "dessert stout" ... Dark malts, warming alcohol in the finish. It is not a world class stout, but another solid brew from excellent Huvila brewery.

(Draught at HBF2008) Black and clear. Light brown head which disappeared quickly. Yeasty nose. Full and bit dry palate. Pleasant sweet and a bit roasty taste. Bitterness from hops balances the sweetness.

(Draught at St. Urho’s Pub on 2008-02-14) Almost black. Small head. Very sweet nose with some roasted malts. Rather sweet taste with some bitterness. The bitterness increases while the beer gets warmer. Bit too sweet for my taste.

Draught. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is wood, some fruits and grass as well as some mild notes of yeast. Flavour is very much the same. Quite standard English pale ale.
