Launched in 2019, Play Brew is a brewery, taproom and event space. The 20-hectolitre plant produces unfiltered beers available in keg, cans and occasionally in cask, distributed throughout the north.

Keg at the Hop Garden, Harborne. Pours hazy lemon gold with a thin head. Aroma is slightly salty sour pineapple. Taste has slightly sour tinned pineapple juice with a touch of salt and yoghurt on the finish.

Can from NE Brews. Hazy duty purple colour with a off white head. Aroma and taste are tart fruity berries. Smooth medium m body.

Can from Hydrology. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aromas of chocolate, toffee crisp bar in fact. Taste is sweet, more Toffee Crisp (TM, I'm sure). Sweet finish. Enjoyed it.

27/2/2021. Can sample courtesy of danlo, cheers Ed! Pours clear pale amber with a small bubbly white head. Aroma of fruit, pine, grass. Moderate sweetness, medium plus bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, average carbonation.

440ml can from Brookes, Richmond. Initially pours clear with a golden amber colour, big foamy white head leaving lacing and aroma of fruity hops, grains. Taste is malt ,caramel, grains, alittle biscuit, with grapefuit citrus, pine, and hop resiny earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, light carbonation, dry tangy bitter finish. Quite drinkable.
