Bottle shared by Liz. Pours dishwater gold with a 4 finger foamy white head. Aroma of lots of coriander and yeast/spice. Med minus body. Flavor is lightly earthy, coriander/citrus. Finishes earthy/dry. Wit wanting to be farmhouse. Nice.

Cool bottle shared by someone at Beermongers, maybe DA. Thanks. Pours a cloudy orange color with a large white head. A sweet phenolic nose of banana and yeast. The flavor is very good; citrus, ripe fruit, dry earthy banana, lively, very full bodied. Good.

750mL bottle, split with manuchampions and uhlan, pours a murky orangey yellow with a small white head. Aroma of oranges, orange peel, coriander and wheat. Begins flavourful with orange peel, oranges and wheat upfront, but then whole thing dies to a very muted orange peel and wheat note. Turns to sparkling water at the end. Decent, but sort of dull.

Bottle SB 8253 with a best before of 01/2017. Not a big fan of the bee’s wax seal (sticky stuff). Pours with a murky burnt yellow to golden hue (a bit darker than I am use to) with a massive eggshell white head that slowly fades to a much smaller head (constant coverage remains). Great belgian lace down the sides of the glass. Aromas are estery and phenolic. Notes of ginger and grains of paradise are the first things that jump out. Peppery, leather, medium barnyard brett phenolics. Some nectarine, stone fruit, and horse blanket. Spicy and herbal hops. A bit of a nutty maltiness. Further fruit esters that nearly go towards a berry or strawberry note. Flavors are estery, and grainy. Slight fruity tang. Bready malt, some alcohol. Feels a bit flabby. Medium herbal hop character. Mild rustic bretty funk. Apricot, nectarine, sage, and some peppery phenols. Very pervasive and fruity character. Fruity esters are a bit extreme and add a perceived sweetness to an already heavy saison. Warming and big, fuller carbonation, and slightly big body. Flavors seem a bit muddled, and the brett seems to be an after thought. Hopefully the brett will dry this out and add complexity with age.

750 ml bottle courtesy of bvc. Best by 8 / 2014. The pour is hazed golden copper, with a foamy three inch egg white head. Nice spider web lacing. The aroma is dusty wheat grain, hay, a touch of floral, and a touch of lemon citrus. Nice nose. The taste is wheat grain, a nice round lemon citrus, yeast, clove, and finishes with flint earthiness. The palate is med bodied, soft natural carbonation, and a pleasant un filtered mouthfeel. The yeast lingers in the finish. Nice, liked the character of the Brett version better, though this was still a really solid Saison. Thanks Brandon.

750 ml bottle courtesy of bvc. Best by 10 / 2016. The pour is a hazed golden copper, with a foamy three inch egg white head. Nice lacing is left behind as the beer retreats. The aroma is spicy yeast, soft brett notes, earthy, leathery, bit of mint, and soft wheat grain. Nice soft nose. The taste introduces some citrus lemon, the soft brett yeast, grain, and a pleasant earthy leather finish. The palate is medium bodied, with a nice soft mouth feel, and the dry flinty brett finish. Nice one, thanks Brandon.

Gusher bottle, just like their other saison - turbid gold pour, fluffy, well-sustained head - a lot of lemony and pineapple Brett character in the nose, a light bit of funk, dust/cobweb, apricot/peach - full in the mouth - Medium dry, a bit of bitterness - quite funky and rustic - a lot of hay/grass - a bit of pineapple - some bitter peach pit - light acidity on the tail end - quite nice - I would like to try it with the Brett more developed.

Bottle - turbid straw color - frothy head - complex, musty, cobweb aroma, with a fair amount for tropical character (pineapple, mango, citrus), with some light peppery phenols - full, creamy carbonation in the mouth - medium dry, with a moderate acidic bite - some candi sweetness up front makes way for peppery phenols, cobweb, earthy wheat, cracked grains, crackery malt, moderate esters - Some notes of bubblegum and apple - a bit sweet, but a solid, complex, earthy saison.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy vibrant orange with a humungous white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, candied sugar / cotton candy, but still dry, some spices (coriander), and various light fruits. Flavour begins spicy and fruity with some candied sugar, finishing dry and yeasty. Better than the brett version, surprisingly.
