From a can #12 on the advent calendar. Pour is big and black. Nose is a sweet milk stout with volatile effects. First taste commences as a thick rich sweeter almost cloying kind of brew, typical of these silly pastry stouts. The pastry thing has really ruined stouts AFAIC! Yea, a thicker more viscous flavored boozy version of an imperial milk stout, There, you have it. Middle is tolerable and the finish is simply nasty. Is stout doomed to become a mass of pastry beers like ale was bastardized like IPA influences. These pastry things can at times just be simply rude.

Can 40,2 cl. Pours an opaque black with a creamy, neat, beige nitro head. Sweet vanilla aroma, a little perfumy. Medium body, low carbonation, sweet coffee, vanilla roast with little bitterness. Beer candy. 111221

From s can that was in an advent beer calendar. #10, thanks Typhany! Pop the lid and this is one delicious smelling brew, lots of fun olfactory of dark pastries all around. The look is also very beautiful, a big creamy rolling feast for the eyes. It finally settles down into a black brew with a creamy tan head. Taste is of course a flat mouth coating experience of deeper stout. Somewhat volatile mix of mild coffee, dark chocolate and mild filbert nuts or some other kind of sweeter nuts in there too. Sweet at times but not cloying. Not bad, just interesting and somewhat unique. Not sure if this is really a pastry, it's much more civilized than most domestic pastry beers I've done recently.

1/3 pint, draught, at Brewdog Shoreditch, shared with Finn. Body is jet black, clingy lacing, dissipating fawn-coloured head. Inviting smell of cocoa-chocolate. Grainy chocolate to the taste profile, earthy. Rounded, slightly roasted dark chocolate malts to the finish. Well bodied. Pleasing. (London 15.11.2021).

Keg @ Brewdog, Birmingham. Pitch black pour, creamy beige head. Chocolatey nose, soft roast with pleasant vanilla emerging. Tastes impeccable with great clarity of flavours and nice harmony with the vanilla and creamy dark chocolate malts. Very good.

OK, here we go again, an india pale lager, what ever, mays well say its an IPA. It pours big yellow and clear, Yes, its just another faddish state of the art, bitter straight up ass, IPA. I don't care if its a lager er not. I got this as a gift for an advent beer calendar, day 2. Thank you TY. At least there in no BO on the nose. Not impressed.
