Nice medium gold body and okay foam. Soft sweet peach aroma, a little watery. Taste is a very nice peach with a bit of zesty pine, finishing rather wet with some vague grain notes. Alcohol well hidden and refreshing, and that's about it.

No idea why they brewed Fake Empire as a sour ipa from Brewdog Scotland and a red ale from Brewdog USA, but I had the latter. Pours red with a one finger head. It smells of toasted caramel malt It tastes of sweet, toasted caramel malt, minimal hops, the usual. I thought there would be more going on here. It’s a pretty average red ale.

Can at home, from BD online, 02/10/21. Black with a handsome lasting khaki head. Nose is rich roast, vanilla, coffee bean, chocolate brownie melt, sugars, mellow roast. Taste comprises sweet malts, burnt toffee, molasses, coffee bean, espresso notes. Medium bodied, soft massaging carbonation, semi drying close. Decent stout but closes a touch on the thin side.

Keg draught at BrewDog Leicester. Light yellow gold and hazy with a small ring of white head. Passionfruit and quince in the aroma. Taste isn't really sour at all but quite jammy. Any tang from the sour fruit is compensated for by loads of sweetness. Am I complaining? Not really. It tastes lovely. Body is a little watery but other than that it's grand.

Black with creamy head. Aroma and flavour are packed with heavily roasted malts. Next to that some sweet melted marshmallow and a hint of strawberry syrup. Not my taste but well made.

[402ml can from Morrisons. Bracknell.] A glossy black pour with a think cream coloured nitro head; aroma of vanilla and oat; smooth lactic body with bitterly roasted grains contrasting with a cloying vanilla sweetness; and some earthy coffee grounds in the finish. A nicely put together stout.

Clear golden amber with a thick white head. Aroma of helles hops. Taste has mild resin, some grainy herbal notes. Palate has much of the same, some lingering German malt on the nose.
