Description
Baxbier Brewery werd in 2014 opgericht door wielervrienden Jeroen Bax en Sepp Jansen. Wat uit nieuwsgierigheid thuis in de keuken begon werd al snel veel meer dan dat. Na de succesvolle lancering van inmiddels moderne klassiekers als Koudvuur, Abel’s Ale en natuurlijk de bieren uit de Kon Minder-lijn staat er inmiddels een moderne, eigen brouwerij met proeflokaal aan het water. Ruim 15 mensen werken elke dag hard aan de mooiste bieren, het lekkerste eten en de leukste evenementen. Baxbier staat bekend om zijn liefde voor spelen en experimenteren. Ons motto is niet voor niks: Seriously Playful.

Sampled @ Pint Winterbierfestival Gouda, 2016. Almost opaque dark brown color, medium sized beige to light brown head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma is malts, smoke, light to moderately peat. Taste malts, firm peat and smoke, moderately bitter. Medium body and carbonation. Not my thing but well done nonetheless.

Sampled @ Pint Winterbierfestival Gouda, 2016. Clear rusty copper red-brown color, small beige head. Aroma is lightly malts, caramel, sweet raisins. Taste malts, caramel, brown candy sugar, sweetish, just a slight note of coffee. Medium body and carbonation. Pretty nice.

Hazy medium amber colour, large frothy off-white head, good retention, light lacing. Bit shy aroma, pale malts, lime, light grapefruit, hay. Taste is mild medium sweet and bitter, light citrusy, bit toffee, with average duration. Mild dry bitter finish, light to medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, decent smooth and mild IPA.

Bottled@SADESA. Reddish amber colour, small white head. Aroma is floral, fruity and mild berryish. Flavour is fruity, floral and toffeeish and citrus.

Bottle from Biernavigatie. Dark brown, nose of caramel, dark fruit, smoke, bitter hops, coffee roasted malts. Very well balanced. Easy drinkable, full of taste. Good!

From bottle at Winterbierfestival Gouda 2016. Hazy, brownish amber. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty aroma of coffee, dark chocolate and some licorice. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty taste of caramel, milk chocolate, coffee and nuts, followed by a short, slightly bitter, roasty finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice!

On tap at Winterbierfestival Gouda 2016. Clear, very dark brownish red with a thin, frothy, tan head. Sweetish-malty, smoky aroma of smoked ham, caramel, dark chocolate and molasses. Sweetish-malty, slightly smoky taste of caramel, smoked ham, dark chocolate and molasses, followed by a medium long, roasty-bitter, slightly smoky finish. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, flat. Very nice!
