On tap at PINT BBF ’14. Dark brown colour, beige head. Aroma of some subtle smoke, sweetish, dark fruits. Flavour of some burnt malts, light smoky, very light tartness, dark fruits, hint of berries, some caramel, yeast, light tart finish. Aroma promises more than the beer can deliver. Light-bodied, even a bit watery at times.

blijkbaar een beperkte oplage, nog geen 1000 stuks, las ik. Donker bruin met kaki kraag. aroma is wat moutig en gedroogd fruit. Smaken zijn moutig, matig zoet, zwak bitter, licht metalig karakter, rozijn/pruim, niet al te dik qua textuur, fruittonen van de pruim zijn aanwezig maar niet al te, verder wat kaneel, caramel, licht geroosterd, iets licht pittigs kruidigs. overall had ik toch wel iets meer verwacht van het bier, komt een beetje ingetogen over.

Bottle picked up in the Netherlands, come to think of it I think it was Bierkoning. Consumed at home Sunday 12th October 2014. Hazy gold with a sticky white head. A little spicy yeastiness on nose some lemon. Citrussy in mouth the aforementioned spiciness also making a further appearance. Drinks well, I thought it was a little stronger than 5%. Very nice. Trübes dunkel goldenes Bier mit ordentlicher weißer Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr hopfig, Citrus, malzig, Gewürze. Geschmack fruchtig bitter, hopfig, Citrus, blumig, würzig.

on tap @ In De Wildeman. Golden blonde color, slightly hazy. Iff white, uneven head, good retention & lacing. Aroma’s: citrus, flowery hops, with light plastic and caramel retronasal. Flavor is moderate bitter. Light bodied. Finishes somewhat earthy, rather bitter.

33cl Bottle at Jopenkerk. So smoked porters are listed as porters, not as smoked anymore? Almost black colour, beige head. Aroma of soft campfire smoke, leather, earth, dark fruits, some roasted malts. Flavour is sweet, quite fruity, dark fruits, some red fruits, soft smoke, hint of leather and chocolate, soft bitter roast finish. Medium-bodied at best. Would have liked some more roast, but this was a tasty treat nonetheless.
