Description
A modest jewel in the Luxembourgish brewing world, Brasserie Simon is both a keeper of the soul of good beer and a creative rebel. Rich in its independence, the company emphasizes the quality of its products and customer service to strengthen its Luxembourg roots.
At Brasserie Simon, we take the time: our fermentation process is still separated into two stages as we did always: a main fermentation in open vats which is followed by maturation in closed vats. A small craft brewery since 1824, Brasserie Simon is the only brewery in Luxembourg to have the latest generation open fermentation tanks guaranteeing the taste of real beers from the past.

Herb-bitterer Antrunk, sehr trocken. Trocken herb bleibend, laff, kaum aromatisch. Unnötig. 8/6/6/6/8/6

330ml bottle at home on 9th Oct 2015. The bottle was well out of date: 3rd May 2015, so some 10 years locked away in a mates cellar in Luxembourg. Came out black with a full tanned coloured head. Malty with a semi-sweet caramel lead in both the nose and taste, some fruity notes in there too. A little thin body depth wise but otherwise it was a decent beer considering how old it was, slightly ’on the turn’ with a mild vinegar feel to be honest, but pleased I got the chance to try it. Scored objectively.

0.33 bottle, thanks Marko. Hazy to opaque banana jurice colour, depends on the amount of yeast in the glass. Some black stuff floating in it. Small white head. Citrus, lemon peel. Coriander. Quite aromatic. Flowery, neutral on the sweet side. Dusty. Citrus kick in the finish. Light body, light carbonation. Good.

Thanks to Stela & Silvija for bringing this from Luxembourg. Shiny misty yellow body with a medium sized white head. Fresh, lemony, tart aroma, prominent coriander, a bit. Nice, fresh, coriander-dominated sweetish taste, a bit dusty, some citric notes. Strong carbonation, Soft finish. Feels somehow... polished. Dunno. I like it quite a bit.

Huge thanks to Stela and Silvija for bringing this from Luxembourg. 0.33l metal bottle, really cool. Pale shiny yellow body, small white head. Sweetish, dry aroma, fresh, apple and a bit herbal. Dry taste, strong carbonation bite. Just trace malty sweetness. Weak, very weak and somehow not sweet apple bubblegum note. Solid bitterness for a macro lager really. Not bad for a macro lager.

Bottle that’s actually a can. 0.33, thanks Marko. Pale golden, small white head, frothy, lots of bubbles. Corn flakes, strong grain aroma, floral. Light body, medium carbonation. Honey sweetness. Sweet finish. Maybe even to sweet. Very light. Some hops in the finish. Good.
