At Brasserie Simon, we take the time: our fermentation process is still separated into two stages as we did always: a main fermentation in open vats which is followed by maturation in closed vats. A small craft brewery since 1824, Brasserie Simon is the only brewery in Luxembourg to have the latest generation open fermentation tanks guaranteeing the taste of real beers from the past.

Smak och doft av humle, malt, jäst med örtiga och gräsiga toner. Lagom söt. En varken bra eller dålig pilsner. Trevlig beska.

Golden coloured body with a thin, one centimetre tall head. Aroma of pale malt, very light hops, alcohol and a hint of fruity sugars. Light-bodied; Nice well-rounded flavour of hops and malt with no sign of bitterness or metallic notes with some nice soft fruit-based sweetness from apples and lemons. Aftertaste shows a light malt with some hops, earth and a hint of the lemon freshness noticeable earlier. Overall, much better than expected with some light fresh notes and nothing bitter or offensive at all. I sampled this 33 cL METAL bottle purchased from Alima Supermarche in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg on 17-August-2013 for €1,05 sampled in my hotel room here in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg on 18-August-2013.

Bottle, 5.4%. Coriander and clove aroma. Milky pale yellow colour. Big chalk white head, seems stable enough. The flavour is watery with some coriander and clove. Quite clean. A little orange note. Low bitterness. High carbonation. Isotonic feel.

Golden coloured body with a thin, one centimetre tall white head and some movement for quite a while after pouring. Aroma of alcohol, metal, light malt and hints of fruits - not much though. Light-bodied; Grassy malt flavour with some metal at first, a bit of lemons and a pungent earthy and bitter finish .Aftertaste shows a little rice, grain and the same strong alcohol and metallic finish that wasn’t pleasant earlier on. Overall, not such a great beer, but that was to be expected really. I just wanted to try this one out as a new beer from Luxembourg - but this really isn’t worth trying at all. I sampled this 33 cL gold foil covered top bottle purchased from Alima in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg earlier today for €0,80 sampled today on 17-August-2013 here in my hotel room in Luxembourg City.

Bottle. Pours clear pale golden with airy white head. Clear aroma of yeast and hops. Bitter flavour of hops with sweetish yeasty and grainy notes. Rough and bitter aftertaste with a skunky note. OK but nothing really impressive. Just average.

Metal bottle, 5.4%. Fruity and lagery aroma. Clear golden colour. Small white head. The flavour is grainy and OK malty. A little paper in the finish. Good mouthfeel. A lot better than expected, especially considering the lame packaging.
