Description
A modest jewel in the Luxembourgish brewing world, Brasserie Simon is both a keeper of the soul of good beer and a creative rebel. Rich in its independence, the company emphasizes the quality of its products and customer service to strengthen its Luxembourg roots.
At Brasserie Simon, we take the time: our fermentation process is still separated into two stages as we did always: a main fermentation in open vats which is followed by maturation in closed vats. A small craft brewery since 1824, Brasserie Simon is the only brewery in Luxembourg to have the latest generation open fermentation tanks guaranteeing the taste of real beers from the past.

Warning! Early amateur rating! Bottle in Luxembourg. Pale lager with a very noticeable fruity flavour that is also slightly sour. Crisp dry finish like it was made with champagne yeast. Great stuff! 2011 note - no idea there was wine in this at time of rating!

Pale golden with a small white head. Dusty aroma with fruit, malt and herbs. Dry and dusty flavour with a cardboard note. Finishing on what I wrote in my notes as "a strange champagne-like fruity note". Maybe not so strange after I read the description of the beer.

25/08/2010 - 33cl @ home Thanks to Jerre for the bottle

Pours a clear grape juice coloured beer with a champagne like head that stays around longer and than thins out to a small layer of white foam. Smell of grapes, sparkling wine, fruits. MF is only a little sparkling, but medium body though. Taste is somewhat sweet, white grapes. A little watery. Aftertaste is just watered down grape juice. Interesting to have drunk, but not impressive.

330ml Bottle - Golden with a large white head. Grassy and grainy aroma with a hint of lemon. Malty taste with a moderate bitterness and hints of grain in the finish. Drinkable, but on the bland side, especially for 5.5%.
