Test vom 10.8.2008, Gebinde: Fass Noten: 12,9,7,8,-,7

100ml + 300ml draught. Easily the best of 7 beers enjoyed for some hours at the brewpub. No wonder it’s still the highest rated Austrian brew. Murky, brown coloured body under an off-white head. Appealing aroma of succulent fruits. Strongly hopped with cascade whole leaf hops. Filled with sappy, late oranges, pineapples and bittersweet grapefruits. The aftertaste is also bittersweet and long-lived. Almost full bodied. Cleverly made (Wien, 30.11.2007).

Very good measure of 100ml on tap at this great brewpub, downtown in Vienna. A top fermented altbock which poured a copper brown body under a light brown head that left nice lacing on the glass. Immediately aroma of acidulated malts. Powerful beer with lots of fruity hops (whole leaf hopped) supported by a lingering bitter finish. Very dry palate. Full bodied. Really something for the hop heads (30.11.2007).
