Description
450 North Brewing Company is a brewery, tap room and restaurant located on the Simmons’ family farm in beautiful Columbus, IN. Since opening in September 2012, the taproom has become a destination for delicious beer, pizza, and fresh growler fills. Featuring a picturesque rural setting and one-of-a-kind events like the annual Corn Maze Beer Fest, we are the perfect spot for a laid-back day trip. If beer isn’t your thing, our own Simmons Winery and Gnarly Grove hard cider is produced and available on-site. Our beer is distributed in Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee. Growler. Honey, barley malt and hay aroma - some alcohol as it warms. Golden yellow with moderate head. Sweet barley malt and lightly bitter hay flavor. Nice body. A pleasant tasting beer.

Draft: Orange-amber with a tall, tight beige head. Strong pine, resin aroma. Taste is caramel malt, grain, pine...heavy resiny hops. Leafy, earthy bittering....packed to the gills with hops....no clingy sweetness or breadiness whatsoever. Very nicely done.

Draft: Hazy, medium gold with a small, off-white head. Honey-lemon aroma...light fruit. Taste is soft honey, sweet grain malt, lightly herbal hops and spices. Sweet, light...very rich flavour for such a light beer.

Growler: Nearly black with a small, fast fading tan head. Coffee, chocolate scent. Taste is bitter coffee, slightly lactic.... Very watery and weak feeling. Rough, roasty bitter...leafy.... Needs more sweet, less water.

Draft/growler. Buttery caramel and barley malt aroma. Dark amber with moderate head. Sweet buttery roasted barley malt and lightly bitter herbal flavor. Solid.

Growler: Pours cloudy red-orange with a whipped, light tan head. Caramel malt, nut aroma. Creamy caramel, slight bitter chocolate.. Nuts, earthy hop bitter. A pretty nice beer.

Draft: Poured hazy amber, minimal off-white head. Watery, canned pumpkin scent. Dull....pumpkin...very little spicing. Actually brewed with canned pumpkin....it shows. A really subpar pumpkin offering..... Oh, and they offer whipped cream on top at the brewpub.... Just uncool.

Draft: Black with red lights, creamy, short tan head. Pine, licorice scent. Flavour is licorice, pine bitter, creamy. Almost a mint/menthol thing to it..... Juniper, maybe? Anyway, mild...but very good.

Draft. Light bourbon and chocolate malt aroma. Black with moderate head. Oaky chocolate malt flavor. Light bourbon finish. Smooth - nicely drinkable.

Draft. Bourbon, yeast, and caramel malt aroma. Cloudy orange-brown with moderate head. Honey, bourbon, caramel malt and moderately bitter herbal flavor. Boozy but tasty.
