The Aromas are strong old coffee, black patent with a little dark malt and molasses. Having this one fresh out of the refrigerator so it's a little too cold to treat it correctly but it's definitely on the sweet side low bitterness with touch soft carbonation but very balanced and drinkable with good coffee flavor match nicely with the other qualities. Nice body with perhaps just a hint of alcohol at the end of the Finish. Good stuff.

Taster at Standard Market Westmont. I needed to “rinse” the overdone sourness of the Une Année beer in my list below. Nothing against, the brewer, but I’ll try this beer from their subsidiary. Rich smell of cocoa nibs in my little round goblet. Even a little coffee and denatured black roast malt. There’s also some sugar in the nose. Dark brown color, little chance for a head to form. Taste is pretty heavy on the chocolate, and any peanut butter in there is adding a bit to the dryness. Sugar in the chocolate and peanut butter probably added to the fermentation. Does not linger too long on the tongue, just kind of slips further down with no effort on its part. Very pleasurable drink, though after my first beer, I probably should be glad I’m just having a sample of this. I do need to get home, after all. In other words, it’s dark, chocolatey, and its alcohol lands pretty strongly.

Draft at Standard Market. Hazy purple color, more fruit juice than beer. No had, but a bit of bubbles kind of stuck in the middle. Smell is a mild, equal mix of berry with light toasted malt. Taste is great to right up front, both from fruit and a wild ferment. In fact, the storms is a little hard to handle. In another frame of mind, I'd probably like it a lot. But it just seems overwhelming right now. There some Crain's as I go further down, and admittedly plenty of boysenberry, but this kind of needed to be blended with some non-tart beer for balance.
Fresh by 12.31.18 annnnd it's 01.07.19. can't complain cause probably no other way for me to try this. Starting to get overly piney BUT I still like it. I love me some Hubbard's Cave, wish I could get this real fresh.

473ml can from Bottles & Cans, Chicago, IL. Canned 112718. Smooth, stingy hoppy and fruity with some tropical notes, citrus and pine. Sweetish and tropical with hints of hop burn. Okay.

On tap at El Bait Shop, pours a deep dark brown with a small white head. Nose is loaded with earthy coffee upfront, with tart leather and a touch of wood. Flavour is along the same lines, with earthy coffee, leather and tart dark fruits. I'm still yet to be convinced that coffee can be harmoniously incorporated into sours, and this hasn't changed my mind.
Fantastic beer.
This is fantastic.

750ml bottle thanks to Steve pours out black topped with a tan head. Nose is nice big maple bourbon barrel notes coffee chocolate. Taste is more of the nice sweet malts coffee maple syrup sweetness and a great bourbon barrel kick.
